Southern Methodist Defeats Utah in Dual Meet<\/strong><\/p>\n

Southern Methodist University welcomes the Utah Utes to Dallas for a dual meet Saturday, and the Mustangs came out on top. The women won 161-133 while the men’s final score was 173-127.<\/p>\n

SMU’s women won the 200 medley relay in 1:41.00 with a team of\u00a0Jimena Leal<\/strong>,\u00a0Izzy Krantzcke<\/strong>,\u00a0Maddy Parker\u00a0<\/strong>and Summer Osborne<\/strong>. Osborne quickly returned to the pool to win the 200 freestyle (1:50.46) while Leal topped the 100 backstroke (55.81) and 200 backstroke (2:01.64). Parker had wins in both the 50 free (22.86) and 100 free (49.66). Krantzcke pulled off a come-from-behind win in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.27).<\/p>\n

Anne Marie Vlaic<\/strong> of the Mustangs dominated the 200 butterfly in 2:00.71, and she doubled up in the 100 fly (54.83). Krantzcke won again in the 200 IM (2:04.68) before the team of Parker, Osborne,\u00a0Madeleine Herbert<\/strong> and\u00a0Chloe Corbin<\/strong> topped the 200 free relay in 1:31.60.<\/p>\n

Utah’s Hayley Smith<\/strong> placed first in the 1000 free (10:15.73) and 500 free (4:58.21), and teammate Erin Palmer<\/strong> pulled away for first in the 100 breast (1:01.47). Diver\u00a0Kathryn Grant<\/strong> won 1-meter (295.28) and 3-meter (281.48).<\/p>\n
