{"id":636141,"date":"2026-01-30T23:56:01","date_gmt":"2026-01-31T06:56:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=636141"},"modified":"2026-01-31T08:02:36","modified_gmt":"2026-01-31T15:02:36","slug":"competition-schedule-announced-for-2027-world-championships-in-budapest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/competition-schedule-announced-for-2027-world-championships-in-budapest\/","title":{"rendered":"Competition Schedule Announced for 2027 World Championships in Budapest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>World Aquatics<\/strong> has announced the competition schedule for the <strong>2027 World Aquatics Championships<\/strong> and <strong>World Masters<\/strong>\u00a0in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>The global governing body announced in December the World Aquatics Championships would be held from 26 June to 18 July 2027 with the World Masters Championships running parallel.<\/p>\n<p>The open water competition will run from 3-8 July 2027 followed by the pool programme from 10-18 July.<\/p>\n<p>The MVM Dome will host the swimming and water polo competitions with the Duna Arena staging the artistic swimming and diving.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019ll be the third time in nine years that the Hungarian capital will stage Worlds after hosting in 2017 and 2022. They also held the World Short Course Championships in December 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe confirmation of the competition schedule for Budapest 2027 is a significant milestone for athletes, organisers and sports fans,\u201d World Aquatics President Al Musallam said. \u201cBudapest has a proven history of delivering exceptional aquatic events, and we are confident that the World Aquatics Championships and World Aquatics Masters Championships in 2027 will provide outstanding competition environments for athletes at every stage of their sporting journey.
