{"id":635946,"date":"2026-01-27T17:30:15","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T00:30:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=635946"},"modified":"2026-01-27T17:30:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T00:30:15","slug":"olympian-jordan-raney-joins-harvard-womens-water-polo-staff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/olympian-jordan-raney-joins-harvard-womens-water-polo-staff\/","title":{"rendered":"Olympian Jordan Raney Joins Harvard Women\u2019s Water Polo Staff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Olympian Jordan Raney Joins Harvard Women\u2019s Water Polo Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Harvard\u2019s women\u2019s water polo team hired U.S. Olympian <strong>Jordan Raney<\/strong> as an assistant coach on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Raney joins the staff of coach <strong>Ted Minnis.<\/strong> Raney was a member of the U.S. women\u2019s team that finished fourth at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am very excited to add Jordan to our staff,&#8221; Minnis said <a href=\"https:\/\/gocrimson.com\/news\/2026\/1\/27\/womens-water-polo-water-polo-adds-olympian-jordan-raney-to-coaching-staff.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a press release<\/a>. &#8220;She brings a wealth of playing experience, and being able to add someone who is both a quality player and a quality person is something that is very important to our water polo program.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Raney, 29, made her international debut with the U.S. in 2017. She was a member of teams that won gold medals at the World Championships in 2017, 2022 and 2024. She also led the U.S. to the World University Games title in 2017 as well as two World Cup titles, four World League titles and the 2023 Pan American Games.<\/p>\n<p>A Stanford grad, Raney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pushing-forward-the-antifragile-identity-of-jordan-raney\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missed out on the Olympics in Tokyo<\/a> in 2021 but was on the team that finished fourth in Paris three years later. She scored five goals at the Olympics and seven at Worlds in 2024. The two-meter player scored 13 goals at Pan Ams in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Raney was a four-time All-American at Stanford, winning NCAA titles in 2015 and 2017.
