The Italian posted 2:12.19 to shave 0.65 from the 2:12.84 standard she set last year.\u00a0<strong>Alba Vazquez Ruiz<\/strong> (2:13.11) and <strong>Lisa Angiolini<\/strong> (2:14.90) joined her on the podium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roos Vanotterdijk<\/strong> had appeared on the start sheets but the Belgian didn&#8217;t appear for the prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Gastaldi returned to book second spot in the 50 back semis, going 28.78 behind <strong>Chiara Lamanna<\/strong> (28.58) while Angiolini heading the 50 breast semis in 30.85 ahead of <strong>Florine Gaspard<\/strong> (31.34).<\/p>\n<p>That followed Angiolini&#8217;s meet mark of 30.81 in prelims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roman Mityukov<\/strong> \u2013 Olympic bronze medallist in the 200 back &#8211; edged out <strong>Youssef Tarek Ramadan<\/strong> by 0.02 to win the men\u2019s 100 free in 49.83 to 49.82. The pair were the only men to crack 50secs with <strong>Gianluca Messina<\/strong> the next man home in 50.29.<\/p>\n<p>Gaspard claimed the women\u2019s title in 56.39 ahead of <strong>Ema Conceicao<\/strong> (56.53) and <strong>Emma Wood<\/strong> (56.73).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Francisca Soares Martins<\/strong> led throughout the women\u2019s 400 free to win in 4:13.52 despite <strong>Lucrezia Domina<\/strong> making inroads on the final 100 with the Spaniard second in 4:13.65.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maria De Valdes Alvarez<\/strong> was in clear water in the women\u2019s 1500 free, stopping the clock at 16:25.83.\u00a0<strong>Angela Martinez Guillen<\/strong> \u2013 10<sup>th<\/sup> in the 10k at Paris 2024 \u2013 was next home in 16:37.49 with <strong>Candela Sanchez Lora<\/strong> third in 16:40.79.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bertille Cousson<\/strong> took the women\u2019s 200 back in 2:15.83 ahead of <strong>Nahia Garrido Malvar<\/strong> (2:15.99).\u00a0<strong>Alessandro Acampora<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 400IM in 4:23.27 with <strong>Tommaso Gerardi<\/strong> next home in 4:24.31.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cristobal Vargas Trujillo<\/strong> held off fellow Spaniard <strong>Mateo Garcia Castro<\/strong> by 0.30 to win the men\u2019s 800 free in 8:03.54 to 8:03.84.<\/p>\n<p>Among selected semifinal results, <strong>Diogo Ribeiro<\/strong> booked lane four in the men\u2019s 50 fly in 23.76 ahead of <strong>Abdelrahman Elaraby<\/strong> (23.86) and <strong>Clement Secchi<\/strong> (23.88).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Caspar Corbeau Dominates 200m Breaststroke At Geneva International Challenge Results Caspar Corbeau dominated the 200m breaststroke before heading the 50 semis on day one of the Geneva International Challenge.
