Orner specializes in freestyler and butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>&#8220;I am thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to West Virginia University to continue my athletic and academic career. I would like to thank Coach Brent MacDonald and the rest of the West Virginia coaching staff for their time and belief in me throughout the recruiting process. I\u2019m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Mountaineer Family. I would also like to thank Coach Kyle and Coach Julia for your guidance at SSC and developing me into the swimmer I am today. I would finally like to thank my parents, family, and friends for all the support and encouragement they have shown me throughout the years. None of this would be possible without you. I can\u2019t wait to be able to represent WVU in the next chapter of my story. Country roads take me home! #HailWV&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Orner does her club swimming with Sachem Swim Club and most recently competed at Juniors East last month. Last summer, she finaled in five events at Ocala Futures where her highest finish was a seventh-place showing in the 50m fly.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 free &#8211; 23.35<\/li>\n<li>100 free &#8211; 50.56<\/li>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:51.73<\/li>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 5:05.17<\/li>\n<li>1650 free &#8211; 17:29.17<\/li>\n<li>100 fly &#8211; 55.44<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Currently a junior at Longwood High School, Orner placed third in the 100 free and ninth in the 50 free at the 2025 New York State Championship after winning the 500 free at the Section XI Championships.
