Torri Huske, Caroline Bricker Triple in Stanford Sweep of USC<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stanford’s women completed the Southern California sweep, adding a dominant dual meet win over USC by a final score of 208-91 one day after also beating UCLA. As expected, Olympic gold medalist\u00a0Torri Huske<\/strong> was central to the effort with three individual wins. The Stanford men got in on the winning, taking down the Trojans with a score of 203-96.<\/p>\n

Huske opened her day with a blazing time of 1:42.26 in the 200 freestyle , just outside of the national top-10 for this season and just three tenths behind her lifetime best of 1:41.90 (ironically achieved against USC last season). Huske then won the 100 free in 47.19, and she went 50.66 for a victorious showing in the 100 fly. Finally, Huske swam the second leg on the winning 200 free relay.\u00a0Annam Olasewere<\/strong>, Huske,\u00a0Gigi Johnson<\/strong> and\u00a0Lucy Thomas<\/strong> swam a final time of 1:27.57.<\/p>\n

Stanford’s women dominated the 200 medley relay behind\u00a0Alana Berlin<\/strong>, Thomas, Johnson and Olasewere, swimming a time of 1:34.96. Thomas got first in the 100 breaststroke (59.30) while\u00a0Caroline Bricker<\/strong> put forth a strong time of 1:52.77 to win the 200 butterfly, clipping six hundredths off her season best while remaining No. 4 in the country. Bricker would earn two more wins, in the 500 free (4:40.88) and 200 IM (1:57.13)<\/p>\n

Lucy Bell<\/strong> is the defending national champion in the 200 breaststroke, and she clocked 2:05.29 in the event, just six tenths off her nationally top-ranked time (2:04.69). Bailey O’Regan<\/strong> topped the 1000 free for the Cardinal (9:44.23). Johnson was the winner of the 50 free in 21.99 while Levenia Sim<\/strong> placed first in the 200 backstroke (1:54.90). Diver\u00a0Molly Gray<\/strong> was first on 3-meter (330.00).<\/p>\n

USC’s\u00a0Minna Abraham<\/strong> picked up first place in the 100 back (51.22) for the Trojans’ only swimming win on the women’s side. In diving,\u00a0Kate Miller<\/strong> won 1-meter (298.50).<\/p>\n
