Alabama Takes Down Georgia Tech in Saturday Dual Meet<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Alabama Crimson Tide welcomed Georgia Tech’s swimming and diving teams to Tuscaloosa this week, and the home team was victorious. The women won 233-66 while the men’s score was 205-93.<\/p>\n

In the women’s 400 medley relay, Alabama’s team of Emily Jones<\/strong>,\u00a0Jada Scott<\/strong>,\u00a0Gaby Van Brunt<\/strong> and\u00a0Cadence Vincent<\/strong> dominated with a time of 3:29.67. Jones was the clear winner of the 100 backstroke (51.37) as well as the 200 back (1:53.55), and Van Brunt was first in the 200 butterfly (1:56.36) plus the 100 fly (52.14). Vincent swept the 50 freestyle (21.91) and 100 free (47.93).<\/p>\n

Alabama’s\u00a0Mackenzie Brandt<\/strong> took first in the 1000 free (9:41.85) and 500 free (4:43.21), and Emma Sundermeyer<\/strong> won the 200 free (1:47.17).\u00a0Charlotte Rosendale<\/strong> was the only swimmer under 1:00 in the 100 breaststroke (59.92) while\u00a0Sydney Blackhurst<\/strong> won the 200 breast (2:14.10).<\/p>\n

In diving, Alabama’s\u00a0Rin Drudge<\/strong> topped 1-meter (275.18) and 3-meter (291.45), and\u00a0Sydney Sanders<\/strong> closed out the individual event slate with a winning time of 4:15.36 in the 400 IM. Rosendale, Jones,\u00a0Tessa Giele<\/strong> and Vincent topped the 200 free relay in 1:27.53, with Vincent providing a 21.49 split on the anchor leg.<\/p>\n
