She finished second in the event to Arkansas\u2019 <strong>Harriet Rogers.<\/strong> Parker\u2019s time trims .05 seconds off the 2015 record set by <strong>Isabella Arcila.<\/strong> Parker also jumped from third on the all-time list and over <strong>Marina Moravcova,<\/strong> a swim that dates to 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers, Parker and Utah\u2019s <strong>Erin Palmer,<\/strong> who finished third in 22.11, all hit the NCAA standard.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sidearmstats.com\/smu\/swim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/acc-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/smu-invitational-rafael-gu-sets-pool-records-in-winning-100-fly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Night 1 Recap<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ekk went 4:11.10 to win the men\u2019s 500 freestyle. His time was more than five seconds ahead of teammate <strong>Henry McFadden.<\/strong> Ekk\u2019s time was more than four second quicker than the 2023 record set by <strong>Krzysztof Chmielewski<\/strong> of USC.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford\u2019s men are in the lead of the meet by a decisive margin. Arkansas is way out in front in the women\u2019s competition of the meet that ends on Saturday.<\/p>\n<h4>SMU Invitational Men\u2019s Scores<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>Stanford, 666<\/li>\n<li>SMU, 577.5<\/li>\n<li>Utah, 488<\/li>\n<li>Drury, 326.5<\/li>\n<li>Air Force, 284.5<\/li>\n<li>Hawai&#8217;i, 246.5<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4>SMU Invitational Men\u2019s Scores<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Arkansas, 746<\/li>\n<li>Hawai&#8217;i, 481.6<\/li>\n<li>SMU, 449<\/li>\n<li>Utah, 419.5<\/li>\n<li>Drury, 252<\/li>\n<li>North Texas, 233<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The men\u2019s side was more prosperous in terms of NCAA A cuts. SMU\u2019s <strong>Jack Berube<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 100 back in 46.07, just .07 ahead of Drury\u2019s <strong>Alvaro Zornoza Quiros.<\/strong> Stanford\u2019s <strong>Finn Harland<\/strong> was third in 46.27. All three times were under the NCAA cut, in an A final where all eight were in the 46-point range.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford\u2019s <strong>Daniel Li<\/strong> won the 200 back ahead of teammate <strong>Go Nagaoka.<\/strong> Li went 1:51.88. Both swimmers and <strong>Kristaps Mikelsons<\/strong> of SMU, who was third in 1:53.69, hit the NCAA time.<\/p>\n<p>Ekk was among three NCAA qualifiers in the 500. McFadden was second in 4:16.36. Utah\u2019s <strong>Nick Chirafisi<\/strong> finished third in 4:16.63. The fourth-best time of the night session came from B final winner <strong>Mark Van Eybergen<\/strong> of SMU in 4:19.08.<\/p>\n<p>Three was the number for the 50 free as well, led by <strong>Rafael Gu.<\/strong> The Stanford senior went 19.13 to book his NCAA spot. Teammate <strong>Jonathan Tan<\/strong> was second in 19.38, .01 slower than he was in the morning. Hawaii\u2019s <strong>Karol Ostrowski<\/strong> finished third in 19.39.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford set the pool record in the 400 medley relay with an NCAA qualifying time of 3:03.98. Harland, <strong>Zhier Fan,<\/strong> Gu and <strong>Andres Dupont Cabrera<\/strong> were the quartet. SMU went 3:05.89 for a provisional time in second place.<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, <strong>Jimena Leal<\/strong> of SMU won the women\u2019s 100 backstroke in 53.40. She was six tenths up on Arkansas\u2019 <strong>Tammy Greenwood.<\/strong> Hawaii\u2019s <strong>Zofia Tyminska<\/strong> picked up a second breaststroke win by going 2:11.56 in the 200. She was just .22 ahead of <strong>Gwen Bergum<\/strong> of Drury. Arkansas\u2019s <strong>Sydney Craft<\/strong> won the 500 free in 4:47.52.<\/p>\n<p>SMU capped the day with an exciting win in the 400 medley relay. Leal, <strong>Izzy Krantzcke, AnneMarie Vlaic<\/strong> and Parker went 3:35.33 to edge Arkansas (Greenwood, <strong>Ellen Garritson,<\/strong> Craft, Rogers) by .39
