Washington State won four events to close in, but Nebraska still held the lead after the third day.<\/p>\n<p>Nebraska has 853.5 points, followed by Washington State (798.5), Iowa (737), Kansas (680), Illinois (643), Miami (491), UConn (465), Iowa State (457) and Northern Iowa (237).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Fly<\/h3>\n<p>Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Beatrix Tanko<\/strong> won the 100 fly in 52.03, dropping a half second from prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Kansas&#8217; <strong>Lydia Lafferty<\/strong> was also under 53, getting to the wall in 52.96 to claim second.<\/p>\n<p>Iowa&#8217;s <strong>Rachel Dildine<\/strong> finished third in 53.67, followed by Miami&#8217;s <strong>Isabelle Videment<\/strong> (53.82), Kansas&#8217; <strong>Anna Gearhar<\/strong>t (54.03), Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Jazmyn Lunn<\/strong> (54.84), Iowa&#8217;s <strong>Payton Flowers<\/strong> (54.89) and UConn&#8217;s <strong>Ella Epes<\/strong> (55.13).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h3>\n<p>Iowa&#8217;s <strong>Olivia Swalley<\/strong> won her second event of the meet, taking first place in the 400 IM. Swalley dropped more than five seconds from her prelims time to get to the wall in 4:11.23.<\/p>\n<p>Nebraska&#8217;s<strong> Gena Jorgenson<\/strong> was second in 4:14.40, followed by Washington State&#8217;s <strong>Ariel Wang<\/strong> (4:15.13), Illinois&#8217; <strong>Sara Jass<\/strong> (4:15.46), Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Aurora Zanin<\/strong> (4:19.71), Miami&#8217;s <strong>Sophie Lenze<\/strong> (4:19.77), Illinois&#8217; <strong>Chloe Diner<\/strong> (4:20.57) and Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Marissa Laurin<\/strong> (4:20.59).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 Free<\/h3>\n<p>Washington State&#8217;s <strong>Lauren Wille<\/strong> won the 200 free by nearly a half second after dropping 1.5 seconds off her prelims time and finishing in 1:46.78.<\/p>\n<p>Miami&#8217;s <strong>Savannah Barr<\/strong> was a close second at 1:47.03, a half second ahead of Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Giulia Marchi<\/strong> (1:47.63).<\/p>\n<p>Stunningly, Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Gena Jorgenson<\/strong> did a double of back-to-back events, and after her 400 IM final, finished fourth in the 200 free final with a swim of 1:47.64.<\/p>\n<p>Nebraska teammate<strong> Riley Miklos<\/strong> finished fifth (1:47.80), followed by Kansas&#8217; <strong>Ivy Solt<\/strong> (1:47.91), Washington State&#8217;s <strong>Darcy Revitt<\/strong> (1:48.86) and Iowa&#8217;s N<strong>ora Kemp<\/strong> (1:49.95).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke<\/h3>\n<p>Washington State&#8217;s <strong>Emily Lundgren<\/strong> dropped another half second off or her prelims time and cruised to victory in the 100 breaststroke in 59.42, the only member of the field to break a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Teammate <strong>Ashlyn Hernandez<\/strong> was second in 1:00.77, followed by Illinois&#8217; <strong>Kayla Duran<\/strong> (1:00.93), Iowa State&#8217;s <strong>Grace Swaboda<\/strong> (1:00.99), UConn&#8217;s<strong> Sydney Perkins<\/strong> (1:01.28), Kansas&#8217; <strong>Ryan Johnston<\/strong> (1:01.34.<\/p>\n<p>Illinois&#8217;<strong> Chloe Dine<\/strong>r also pulled off a successful double. After her 400 IM final, she finished seventh in the 100 breast in 1:01.45 to hold off Iowa State&#8217;s <strong>Anja Peck<\/strong> (1:01.81).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 100 Backstroke<\/h3>\n<p>Washington State made it three wins in a row when <strong>Anna Rauchholz<\/strong> won the 100 back in 52.57.<\/p>\n<p>Kansas&#8217; <strong>Lydia Lafferty,<\/strong> doing a double, finished second in 53.15, followed by Miami&#8217;s <strong>Leah Treglia<\/strong> (53.58), Washington State&#8217;s <strong>Jade Castro<\/strong> (54.06), Illinois&#8217; <strong>Michelle Kaner<\/strong> (54.10), Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Virginia<\/strong> <strong>Consiglio<\/strong> (54.22), UConn&#8217;s<strong> Molly Rogers<\/strong> (55.06) and Kansas&#8217; <strong>Bradie Ward<\/strong> (55.17).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 3-Meter Diving<\/h3>\n<p>Kansas&#8217; <strong>Shiyun Lai<\/strong> swept the springboards with a win on 3-meter. She totaled a score of 364.15.<\/p>\n<p>Iowa&#8217;s <strong>Lainey Woodward t<\/strong>ook second with a score of 321.00, followed by Nebraska&#8217;s<strong> Abigail Baxter<\/strong> (319.60), Iowa State&#8217;s <strong>Katherine Mitchell (<\/strong>310.95), Iowa&#8217;s<strong> Zita Bernatsky<\/strong> (303.95), Nebraska&#8217;s <strong>Frances Webb<\/strong> (271.40), Iowa&#8217;s <strong>Geneva Pauly<\/strong> (263.35) and Illinoi&#8217;s <strong>Matilda Garcia<\/strong> (211.10).<\/p>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 400 Medley Relay<\/h3>\n<p>Washington State claimed its fourth swimming victory of the night with a win in the 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anna Rauchholz, Ashlyn Hernandez, Emily Lundgren<\/strong> and <strong>Darcy Revitt<\/strong> combined to finish in 3:33.12.<\/p>\n<p>Miami&#8217;s<strong> Leah Treglia, Sophie Lenze, Isabelle Videment<\/strong> and<strong> Brooke Murphy<\/strong> took second in 3:38.64.<\/p>\n<p>Third place went to Kansas&#8217; <strong>Lydia Lafferty, Ryan Johnston, Anna Gearhart<\/strong> and <strong>Sarah Blake<\/strong> (3:38.95).<\/p>\n<p>Nebraska was fourth (3:40.42), followed by Illinois (3:40.46) and Iowa (3:40.68).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More College News<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Hawkeye Invitational continued from Iowa City on Thursday, Nov. 20, with a full slate of events.
