Freya Colbert & Cameron Brooker Double Up At BUCS Championships<\/h4>\n

Freya Colbert<\/strong> and Cameron Brooker<\/strong> won two titles apiece on day two of the BUCS s\/c Championships in Sheffield.<\/p>\n

Colbert, enjoyed a five-second victory in the 400IM in the first women\u2019s event of the session before returning for the 200 back which featured a strong field including Olympic finalists Honey Osrin<\/strong> and Katie Shanahan<\/strong> as well as Holly McGill<\/strong>, who competed at the Singapore worlds earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Colbert was second behind Shanahan at halfway before coming her GB teammate to touch in 2:03.64, a personal best for the Loughborough swimmer. Osrin (2:04.03) and McGill (2:05.18) completed the podium with Shanahan fifth.\u00a0It was a fourth title for the Colbert who won the 200 free and 200IM on\u00a0 the opening evening.<\/p>\n

Brooker also won the 200 back, leading all the way to touch in 1:52.61. That followed his 100 free victory in 47.51.<\/p>\n

Angharad Evans<\/strong> and Archie Goodburn<\/strong> each completed the 50\/100 breaststroke double with victories in the longer race.<\/p>\n

Evans, of Stirling, touched in 1:04.68, the sixth-fastest time by a British woman and one only she and Molly Renshaw<\/strong> have bettered among domestic women. Goodburn went 57.35 to win the men\u2019s race.<\/p>\n

Tyler Melbourne-Smith<\/strong> headed the fastest heat of the men\u2019s 800 free by more than 14 seconds in 7:38.99 with Lucy Fox<\/strong> taking the women\u2019s title in 8:21.78.<\/p>\n

Melbourne-Smith\u2019s time was the fourth swiftest by a British man in a short-course pool. Only Kieran Bird<\/strong> and David Davies<\/strong> have gone quicker, the former topping the all-time rankings in 7:36.26.<\/p>\n

Max Litchfield<\/strong> did the IM double with victory by more than 5.5secs in the 400 in 4:06.28.<\/p>\n

Ed Mildred<\/strong> completed the sprint fly double with a 23.03 win in the 50 with Lucy Grieve<\/strong> adding the title to her 100 gold in 26.14.<\/p>\n

Evie Davis<\/strong> won the women\u2019s 100 free in 53.92.<\/p>\n

Melbourne-Smith was back on top of the podium with the Loughborough men\u2019s 4×50 free quartet that won in 1:26.76. Edinburgh won the women\u2019s event in 1:40.06.<\/p>\n
