Sprint Depth Leads Arizona Past UCLA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arizona put its sprint depth to good use Saturday, with a 1-2 finish in the 200 freestyle relay needed to seal a 160-139 win over UCLA in a battle of former Pac-12 schools.<\/p>\n

Arizona held a slim lead heading into the concluding relay and just needed to make sure UCLA didn\u2019t win it to have a chance to take the meet in Tucson. That meant Riley Botton,<\/strong> who had finished third in the 50 free and 100 free, and 200 free winner Kayman Neal<\/strong> were shuttled to the ostensible B team. With Botton\u2019s split of 21.90, that team ended up winning, with the A team finishing second to ensure the victory. Bottom\u2019s squad with Patricija Kondraskaite<\/strong> and Meric Demirtee<\/strong> finished in 1:30.05, three tenths up on the A squad and seven tenths clear of UCLA\u2019s best quartet.<\/p>\n
