And while they are still not the norm, plenty of veterans have continued to flourish in the sport. Leading the way is Australian Cam McEvoy, the reigning Olympic and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-championships-day-7-cam-mcevoy-sizzles-to-second-50m-free-crown-in-21-14-ahead-of-ben-proud-21-26-and-jack-alexy-21-46\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">world champion<\/a> in the 50-meter freestyle. McEvoy was a teen prodigy, but in his later years, he has relied on innovative training to remain a force.<\/p>\n<p>Many veterans have followed McEvoy&#8217;s approach, fine-tuning their training to fit what their bodies can handle.
