The South Carolina women continued a strong start to the season with a dominant victory, scoring 199 points to FSU&#8217;s 101, while the home team won the men&#8217;s contest 179-121.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nora Fluck<\/strong> provided the first win for South Carolina&#8217;s women in the 1000 freestyle (9:43.64), and\u00a0<strong>Breckin Gormley<\/strong> followed that up by taking the top spot in the 200 free (1:46.55).\u00a0<strong>Amy Riordan<\/strong> won a tight 100 backstroke (52.50) while <strong>Jordan Agliano<\/strong> topped the 200 butterfly (1:57.19). <strong>Dylan Scholes<\/strong> was the winner of the 50 free (22.61).<\/p>\n<p>Following the first break, Riordan doubled up with a win in the 100 free (49.19), followed by <strong>Megan Maholic<\/strong> winning the 200 back (1:57.13). In that event, Gamecock swimmers swept the top-four spots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Delaney Franklin<\/strong> got the better of the field in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.92) while Gormley won again in the 500 free (4:45.10).\u00a0<strong>Sophie Verzyl<\/strong> was first in 3-meter diving (344.10), and Franklin completed her day with an additional win in the 200 IM (2:00.33). Riordan, Scholes,\u00a0<strong>Ellery Ottem<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Sofia Luper <\/strong>were victorious in the 400 free relay (3:19.66).<\/p>\n<p>Florida State&#8217;s women opened with a win from\u00a0<strong>Alice Velden<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Julia Mansson<\/strong>,<strong> Maryn McDade<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Mary Leigh Hardman<\/strong> in the 200 medley relay (1:37.54). Mansson was the first individual winner in the 100 breast (1:01.33), and <strong>Kayleigh Clark<\/strong> took first in 1-meter diving (281.93).\u00a0<strong>Sophie Freeman<\/strong> topped the 100 fly by two hundredths over South Carolina&#8217;s Agliano, 53.59 to 53.61.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college swimming news<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The men&#8217;s meet began with\u00a0<strong>Max Wilson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Tommaso Baravelli<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Michel Arkhangelskiy<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Sam Bork<\/strong> taking first for Florida State in the 200 medley relay by more than a second in 1:24.81. The relay began a huge day for Arkhangelskiy, who later scored victories in the 50 free (19.82), 100 free (42.97) and 100 fly (46.34). While the 100 free victory was by more than one-and-a-half seconds, Arkhangelskiy had to work to defeat Bork by four hundredths in the 50 free and then touch out South Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eldor Usmonov\u00a0<\/strong>by 0.02 for the 100 fly win.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Logan Robinson<\/strong> came in first in the 200 free (1:35.78), and Wilson got first in the 100 back (47.41) before\u00a0<strong>Mathias Christensen<\/strong> came through in the 200 fly (1:44.56) and 200 IM (1:46.94). The team of\u00a0<strong>Utku Kurtdere<\/strong>, Robinson,\u00a0<strong>Gustav Olsson<\/strong> and Wilson provided a win in the 400 free relay with a time of 2:56.17.<\/p>\n<p>South Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Connor Fry<\/strong> swam a time of 9:03.79 to win the 1000 free, and\u00a0<strong>Einar Margeir Agustsson<\/strong> was the top performer in both the 100 breast (52.91) and 200 breast (1:56.21). <strong>Max Spencer<\/strong> was the top scorer in 1-meter diving (376.50), and\u00a0<strong>Charles Bayer<\/strong> took first in the 3-meter event (333.38). <strong>Merlin Ficher<\/strong> won the 200 back (1:44.36), and <strong>Pierre Largeron<\/strong> came in first in the 500 free (4:24.64).<\/p>\n<p><a
