In addition to changes to the schedule, consolation finals have been eliminated. Now, the ninth through 16th-place finishers will be determined by performances during the morning prelims. How will the overhaul be viewed? We&#8217;ll find out in March, when the championship meets are conducted in their new formats at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>What we do know is that last year&#8217;s defending champs, Virginia (women) and Texas (men), will again be in the mix to lift trophies. Virginia is trying to become the first women&#8217;s program to win six consecutive crowns, as it shares the record of five straight championships with Texas and Stanford.<\/p>\n<p>As for Texas, it is chasing its 17th NCAA men&#8217;s title, a total that is complemented by 13 runnerup finishes.
