CHAPEL HILL, N.C., November 23. THE Tennessee men's swimming team closed out the final day of Nike Cup competition in Chapel Hill, N.C. by taking home four more titles and posting the fastest time in the country this season in the three of the four victories. <\/p>\n

"It was a total team victory," head coach John Trembley said. "This was the most impressive team performance I can remember. The team is ready to get back and continue to work hard." <\/p>\n

Tennessee set the fastest time in the country in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 2:54.37. Bryan Goldberg (44.48 seconds), Tyler Gustafson (43.28), Raymond Rosal (43.42) and Andrew Bree (43.19) combined to winn the event by over six seconds and qualified for the NCAA championship meet. <\/p>\n

Bree touched the wall in 1:55.55 to win the 200-yard breaststroke and just missed former olympian Jeremy Linn's school record of 1:55.27. Michael Russo finished second in 1:59.29 and Kiel Huston set a personal-best time of 2:00.44 to finish fourth. <\/p>\n

The Vols continued to post fastest times in the country when Gustafson won the 100-yard freestyle in 44.13 seconds. Rosal (44.35) and Goldberg (44.90) followed closely to give the Vols a top-three sweep. <\/p>\n

Freshman Brad Boswell swam under the NCAA provisional cut and won the 1,650-yard freestyle in 15:22.56. <\/p>\n

Chris Franklin led the way in the 200-yard backstroke by setting a personal-best time of 1:47.27 and taking second place, while Josh Fulton (1:49.70) and Boswell (1:50.81) rounded out the super-final heat in third and fourth. <\/p>\n

Senior co-captain Jamie Graves led the Vols in the 200-yard butterfly by touching second in 1:47.67. <\/p>\n

"The parents dominated the spectator gallery," Trembley said. "It was a complete Tennessee victory on every front." <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Houston, John Venditti represented the Vols on the 10-meter platform with a first place finish and personal best score of 391 points. <\/p>\n

"I'm very pleased with John's performance," head diving coach Dave Parrington said. "This was a good opportunity to dive, and he showed promising signs for the future."<\/p>\n
