The Lancers\u2019 score included a win in the men\u2019s 2,000-meter relay. Second in the team standings with 110 points was Grand Canyon, while Whittier College\u2019s 101 points edged BYU for third place.<\/p>\n<p>Rice scored 148 points, tops among 17 scoring programs on the women\u2019s side. Washington State was second with 118, followed by 89 points for Cal Baptist in finishing third.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mpsports.org\/documents\/2025\/10\/18\/\/2025_mpsf_open_water_champs_results.pdf?id=6059\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/mpsports.org\/news\/2025\/10\/19\/open-water-swimming-rice-cal-baptist-win-mpsf-open-water-titles.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MPSF Open Water Championships Meet Page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The gold medal in the men\u2019s race went to Whittier\u2019s <strong>Thomas Langlois,<\/strong> who covered the 5,000 meters in 59 minutes, 6.41 seconds. It took breaking an hour to get on the podium, with Cal Baptist\u2019s <strong>Mark Kovacsics<\/strong> second in 59:07.15, then <strong>Batu Servi<\/strong> of Grand Canyon.<\/p>\n<p>CBU placed four in the top eight, though only three score. <strong>Holden Short<\/strong> was fifth, <strong>Cody Meyer<\/strong> seventh and <strong>Fernando Manceras<\/strong> eighth. UC Santa Barbara got a fourth-place finish from <strong>Connor Martilla. Wojciech Chalat<\/strong> of Quincy University was sixth.<\/p>\n<p>The Lancers\u2019 relay team of Kovacsics, Short, <strong>Andrew Teh<\/strong> and <strong>Eli Rollen<\/strong> went 24:30.02, besting BYU\u2019s quartet of <strong>Darwin Anderson, Easton Mousser, Tanner Nelson<\/strong> and <strong>Dan Weber<\/strong> by five minutes. Anderson, who finished ninth in the 5,000, was BYU\u2019s top individual finisher. Grand Canyon was third in the relay.<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, Rice ran away with the title via a 1-2 finish. <strong>Ella Dyson, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ben-wainman-ella-dyson-win-titles-at-cscaa-open-water-championships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who has twice won the CSCAA open water individual title<\/a>, added another trophy to the cabinet by going 1:01:21.0 to win. She finished 59 seconds ahead of teammate <strong>Ava Portello<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Rice\u2019s third scorer was <strong>Ava Hamblett<\/strong> in fifth place in 1:03:34.0, with teammate <strong>Renee Tan<\/strong> seventh for good measure.<\/p>\n<p>Third place went to <strong>Kyra Rabess<\/strong> of Northern Colorado in 1:03:13.0. Washington State\u2019s <strong>Sophie Hay<\/strong> was fourth, with teammate <strong>Tatum Janning<\/strong> sixth. New Mexico State\u2019s <strong>Estel Galo Nogueira<\/strong> secured eighth place.<\/p>\n<p>Rice rolled in the 2,000-meter relay, winning by 42 seconds. Dyson, Portello, Hamblett and <strong>Mollie McAlorum<\/strong> comprised that squad.
