Gena Jorgenson Wins Three Events as Nebraska Dominates Iowa State<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nebraska women’s swimming and diving team defeated Iowa State in a dual meet Saturday in Ames, Iowa, with the Cornhuskers taking first place in every event aside from the breaststroke races.\u00a0Gena Jorgenson<\/strong>, a multi-time All-American for Nebraska, led the way with three individual triumphs as her team won 197-103.<\/p>\n

Nebraska’s team of\u00a0Virginia Consiglio<\/strong>,\u00a0Amelia Riggot<\/strong>,\u00a0Beatrix Tanko<\/strong> and\u00a0Natalie Dunaway<\/strong> pulled clear of the Cyclones’ “A” team for the top spot in the 200 medley relay, recording a time of 1:44.73. Consiglio topped the 100 backstroke (57.07) and 200 back (2:04.57) while Tanko grabbed first in the 50 freestyle (24.03) and 100 butterfly (56.87).<\/p>\n
