The organization\u2019s House of Delegates elected three Directors to four-year terms and the National Team Steering Committee named Doughty as Chair through 2028.<\/p>\n<p>USA Swimming is grateful to <strong>Frank Busch<\/strong>, <strong>Maya Dirado<\/strong>, <strong>Clark Hammond<\/strong>, and <strong>Ira Klein<\/strong> for their service on the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>Due to a tie in the initial round of voting for the 10-Year Athlete Representative on the USA Swimming Board of Directors (\u201cBoD\u201d), the election will reopen and remain open until 5 pm MT tomorrow, September 28.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, <strong>Phoebe Bacon<\/strong>, <strong>Gunnar Bentz<\/strong>, <strong>Lilly King<\/strong>, and <strong>Alex Walsh<\/strong> were elected to USA Swimming\u2019s Athletes\u2019 Advisory Council.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Bauerle led the University of Georgia Swimming and Diving program for 43 seasons, achieving unparalleled success with seven NCAA championships and 12 SEC titles. Under his leadership, 62 Georgia athletes won 175 national championships, and 304 earned 2,116 All-America honors. Bauerle was named SEC Coach of the Year 18 times and National Women\u2019s Coach of the Year seven times. He coached the U.S. Women\u2019s Olympic Team to 14 medals in 2008 and has served in various roles across six Olympic Games, guiding 87 Olympians to 38 medals, including 15 golds. Bauerle\u2019s Bulldogs produced standout Olympians such as Chase Kalisz, Kristy Kowal and Allison Schmitt and he\u2019s been a key figure in the careers of numerous medalists. A member of multiple coaching halls of fame, Bauerle is recognized for his profound impact on both collegiate and international swimming.<\/p>\n<p>Billy Doughty brings extensive leadership and expertise to the USA Swimming Board of Directors, with over a decade of experience as CEO and Head Coach of DART Swimming, where he transformed the organization into a multi-million-dollar aquatics entity. Under his guidance, DART has produced multiple Junior National Team and National Team athletes, including a Paris Olympian. Doughty\u2019s unique combination of operational acumen in aquatic programming and financial expertise positions him to help USA Swimming navigate the evolving landscape of collegiate and elite swimming. He has also held key governance roles at the LSC and national levels, including service on the Senior Development Committee, and was appointed Head Men\u2019s Coach for the 2019 World Junior Championships in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>Brent Lang is a former Olympic gold medalist, seasoned business leader, and committed mentor with a distinguished career in both sports and technology. As a member of the 1988 U.S. Olympic Team, he won a gold medal in the 4&#215;100 Freestyle Relay at the Seoul Games and was a four-time NCAA champion at the University of Michigan. After earning his MBA from Stanford, Lang led Vocera Communications through a successful IPO and eventual acquisition by Stryker in 2022. Currently, he serves on the board of Outset Medical and chairs the board of Eko Health, innovating medical technology with AI-powered devices. Lang also contributed to the recovery of USA Gymnastics following its sexual abuse scandal, helping restore the organization\u2019s leadership and reputation. His passion for supporting athletes extends to his roles with the Positive Coaching Alliance and Thriveworks, where he works to enhance the well-being of athletes. Lang has received the CEO World Award and the NCAA Silver Anniversary Award. He resides in Los Altos, California, with his wife and continues to swim with the local Masters team, giving back to the sport that shaped his life.<\/p>\n<p>Kate Lundsten has been the Head Coach of Aquajets Swim Team since 2004, building strong swimmers and teams with her team-first philosophy. With over 30 years of coaching experience, she has represented the U.S. at the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships, the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, and the 2019 Pan American Games. Under her leadership, Aquajets has earned multiple USA Swimming Gold and Silver Medal Team honors. A former NCAA national champion with 24 All-American honors, Lundsten has coached two Olympians and numerous National Team athletes. She\u2019s also Board Chair of Newjets, Inc., and is an advocate for Safe Sport, mental health awareness, and inclusive swimming environments.
