He battled severe anxiety and depression. He died in 2020, taking his own life.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollandsentinel.com\/story\/sports\/college\/2025\/09\/26\/ian-miskelley-taught-me-life-lessons-mental-health-anxiety-depression\/86371200007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More on Ian&#8217;s Impact &#8211; at a personal level.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Wolverines competed against Calvin, Hope and Purdue, each of which has student-athletes with connections to Miskelley and his family at the prep, club or collegiate levels. The meet is a non-scoring exhibition with several traditional events and a group of different events for fun, including an eight-round skins game until one is the winner of the event.<\/p>\n<p>The meet marks the beginning of Michigan&#8217;s third season under head coach <strong>Matt Bowe<\/strong>.
