World Aquatics Announces Members of the Athletes’ Committee<\/strong><\/p>\n

World Aquatics has announced the 20 individuals who will make up the governing body’s Athletes’ Committee, serving in that role from 2025-2029. The organization took to social media to reveal the names of the committee members, who will represent “a global team of athlete representatives, bringing diverse perspectives and united commitment to the future of aquatics.”<\/p>\n

According to World Aquatics, the Athletes’ Committee<\/a> is designed for the following purposes:<\/p>\n

\n
To bring input of the Athletes to World Aquatics, in particular in connection with the organization of competitions and events;<\/li>\n
To collaborate in the Technical Rule proposals and amendments for each discipline;<\/li>\n
To be in contact with Athletes participating in competitions and events and bring forward to World Aquatics any suggestions and remarks made by Athletes;<\/li>\n
To have a representative of the Athletes Committee participating in the meetings of each Technical Committees, with such Committee representative having personal experience in the discipline of the respective Technical Committee; and<\/li>\n
To have the Chair of the Athletes Committee being an ex officio member of the Bureau and the Executive, with his or her main duty being to ensure that the Athletes’ perspective is represented in the debates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The committee consists of 10 athletes from swimming and two each from open-water swimming, diving, artistic swimming, water polo and high diving. The names of the committee members can be seen in the social-media post below.<\/p>\n
