YMCA Championships: Upper Main Line, Spartanburg Close in on Titles<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The 2025 YMCA Swimming Championships continued from Ocala, Florida, on Friday with the Day 4 finals.<\/p>\n

The events for the session include the men’s and women’s 400 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 800 free relay.<\/p>\n

Upper Main Line continued to build its lead in the women’s meet, while Spartanburg was still in front in the men’s meet.<\/p>\n

Upper Main Line’s Ellie McNamara<\/strong> dropped six seconds from prelims to earn the win in 4:21.87, holding off Spartanburg’s Claire Burns<\/strong> by about a second (4:22.90).<\/p>\n
Oshkosh’s Kiersten Dietschweiler<\/strong> was third in 4:23.29, followed by Lakeland Hills’ Serena Dickey<\/strong> (4:24.97) and Wyckoff’s Josie Marino<\/strong> (4:26.26).<\/p>\n

Spartanburg earned a 1-3 finish in the men’s event as Oliver Stull<\/strong> earned a two-second win with a time of 4:03.41.<\/p>\n
Teammate Lincoln Council<\/strong> finished third in 4:06.79, finishing behind Summerville’s Grant Smith<\/strong> (4:05.95).<\/p>\n
Farmington Valley’s Jack Ackerman<\/strong> took fourth (4:07.91) and Indian Valley’s Cody Lonsberry<\/strong> was fifth (4:08.12).<\/p>\n

Lakeland Hills’ Anna Kilponen<\/strong> edged Jersey Shore’s Maya Freeman<\/strong> by three hundredths of a second to take the title in the 50 fly.<\/p>\n
Kilponen got to the wall in 27.80 and Freeman finished at 27.83.<\/p>\n
Upper Main Line’s Audrey Schroeder<\/strong> took third in 28.31, followed by Lowes’ Alyssa Claborn<\/strong> (28.36) and Jersey Shore’s Amira Washington<\/strong> (28.52).<\/p>\n

Spartanburg’s Jimmy<\/strong> Beeson<\/strong> continued his stellar meet with a win in the 50 fly. He finished in 24.59 to hold off Farmington Valley’s John Rusnock<\/strong> (24.90) and Ridley Area’s Jonathan Hoole<\/strong> (24.96).<\/p>\n
Bath Area’s Gaffney McDonough<\/strong> and Greater Somerset’s Sebastian Canosa<\/strong> tied for fourth at 25.22.<\/p>\n

Upper Main Line’s Sebastian Tith<\/strong> used a quick start to propel him to victory in the 100 breast. He was second at the halfway point, then pulled ahead to finish in 1:03.68.<\/p>\n
Triangle Area’s Evan Hepburn<\/strong> took second in 1:03.74, followed by Farmington Valley’s John<\/strong> Rusnock<\/strong> (1:04.00), York’s Kaden Fatta<\/strong> (1:04.66) and William Rees<\/strong> (1:05.55).<\/p>\n
