Team USA posted the fastest-two times in the first three events of the morning, the men&#8217;s 200 butterfly, women&#8217;s 100 backstroke and men&#8217;s 200 breaststroke, and ended the session by finishing first in the mixed medley relay.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a look at how the Day Three prelims unfolded:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2025-world-university-games\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Page<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/rhineruhr2025.com\/en\/schedule#\/athletic-sports-schedule\/SWM\/*\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Results<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Men&#8217;s 200 Butterfly<\/h3>\n<p>The United States opened the third morning of competition with <strong>Jack Dahlgren<\/strong> and <strong>Mason Laur<\/strong> qualifying one-two into the semifinals of the 200 fly. Dahlgren (Missouri) won the third heat in 1:56.82 for the top time while Laur (Florida) prevailed in the fifth heat, behind a swim of 1:57.47. Shackley was the only athlete to break the minute barrier in the opening round, going 59.74. Campos posted a time of 15:12.87, which was nearly five seconds faster than the 15:17.29 of Italy&#8217;s <strong>Davide Marchello<\/strong>, the No. 2 qualifier.
