Serbia beat the U.S., 10-6, in the semifinals in Paris on the way to gold.<\/p>\n<p>Hungary survived a scare from Romania for a 15-11 win on Friday. That sets the Hungarians up against Group D winner Croatia; Croatia beat Hungary, 9-8, in the Olympic semis.<\/p>\n<p>Both teams from Group D won in the crossover round. Runner-up Montenegro routed Canada, 22-10. Greece, which finished third in the group, bested Brazil, 17-5. Greece will take on Group A winner Italy in the first quarterfinal Sunday, while Montenegro takes on Group B winner Spain.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/total-waterpolo.com\/world-championships-singapore-2025-men\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025 World Championships Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-championships-u-s-men-handle-canada-montenegro-tips-greece-as-mens-water-polo-opens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 1 Men\u2019s Water Polo Recap<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/italy-mens-water-polo-tops-serbia-in-shootout-at-world-champs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 2 Men\u2019s Water Polo Recap<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/world-championships-u-s-mens-water-polo-tops-singapore-to-win-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 3 Men&#8217;s Water Polo Recap<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The crossover round losers fall into the 9-12 classification matches.<\/p>\n<p>Romania got within two goals in the fourth quarter, but Hungary held off its rally. <strong>Gergely Burian<\/strong> was 3-for-3 shooting with three assists. <strong>Daniel Angyal, Adam Nagy, Peter Kovacs<\/strong> and <strong>Zsombor Vismeg<\/strong> tallied two goals apiece.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vlad Georgescu<\/strong> led Romania with five goals. <strong>Andrei Neamtu<\/strong> paired three goals with two assists.<\/p>\n<p>Serbia used nine goals in the third quarter to pull away from Japan. <strong>Boris Vapenski<\/strong> led the way with four goals and two assists. <strong>Milos Cuk<\/strong> and <strong>Djordje Lazic<\/strong> scored three goals each, Cuk adding two assists. <strong>Nikola Jaksic<\/strong> had a goal and five assists. <strong>Radoslav Filipovic<\/strong> stopped 11 shots in goal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Taiyo Watanabe<\/strong> and <strong>Toi Suzuki<\/strong> had three goals and two assists each. <strong>Yusuke Inaba<\/strong> added three goals and an assist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emmanouil Andreadis<\/strong> stopped seven shots as Greece kept a first-half zero, leading 7-0 and never looking back. <strong>Konstantinos Genidounias<\/strong> paired three goals with three assists. <strong>Aristeidis Chalyvopoulos<\/strong> poured in three goals. Greece had eight blocks and eight steals, holding Brazil to 1-for-16 on action shots.<\/p>\n<p>A 5-0 margin in the second quarter helped Montenegro pull away from Canada. <strong>Filip Gardasevic<\/strong> orchestrated the attack with five goals and three assists. <strong>Savo Cetkovic<\/strong> shot 4-for-4. <strong>Dmitri Kholod<\/strong> (two goals, three assists) and <strong>Strahinja Gojkovic<\/strong> (three goals, two assists) had five points apiece.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reuel Mark D\u2019Souza<\/strong> and <strong>Jason O\u2019Donnell<\/strong> (on 3-for-3
