Catherine Breed Dives in for Lake Tahoe Swim to Prepare for ‘Swim California’ in 2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Former Cal All-American Catherine Breed<\/strong>, ultra\u2011endurance swimmer and founder of Sea Dreamers, has embarked on a swimming circumnavigation of Lake Tahoe beginning July 16, 2025, from Skylandia Beach.<\/p>\n

This 60-plus mile multi-stage swim is a pivotal training milestone for the historic Swim California<\/a> expedition she will launch in 2026.<\/p>\n

\u00a0This is the first documented attempt for a swimmer to consecutively circumnavigate Lake Tahoe via the Lake Tahoe Water Trail.<\/p>\n

Tahoe\u2019s frigid waters and shifting conditions simulate the diverse environments found along California’s coast, preparing her for the California coast swim.\u00a0\u00a0Skylandia Beach, marks the first meaningful test of mission-critical systems that will carry her through the 900+ mile coast swim beginning summer 2026 \u2014 a three-month, staged, supported adventure of the coast of California.<\/p>\n

\u201cSwimming around Lake Tahoe is about more than distance \u2014 it\u2019s about building trust, testing my limits, and preparing for the unknown,\u201d Breed said.<\/p>\n

Breed has planned to Swim California in 2026, starting at the Oregon-California border and transversing the waters along the California coastline all the way to the Mexican border, the first swim of its kind.<\/p>\n
