(VOTE HERE!)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 100-meter freestyle is going to be one of the most-anticipated events on the schedule at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldaquatics.com\/competitions\/4725\/world-aquatics-championships-singapore-2025\/schedule?phase=All&amp;disciplines=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Championships<\/a> in Singapore, especially with China&#8217;s <strong>Pan Zhanle<\/strong> and Romania&#8217;s <strong>David Popovici<\/strong> in the field as headliners. While Pan is the world-record holder (46.40) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-paris-olympics-day-5-finals-chinas-pan-zhanle-shreds-world-record-in-100-freestyle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reigning Olympic champion<\/a>, Popovici recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/flash-david-popovici-soars-to-european-100m-freestyle-record-of-46-71\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lowered his European record<\/a> in the 100 free to 46.71, handing him the No. 2 performance in history.<\/p>\n<p>Often referred to as the sport&#8217;s Blue Ribbon event, the 100 free will also feature three-time Olympic medalist <strong>Kyle Chalmers<\/strong> of Australia and American <strong>Jack Alexy<\/strong>. Chalmers, the 2016 Olympic champ, has been under 47.30 twice this season while Alexy joined the sub-47 club last month when he clocked a time of 46.99. Meanwhile, Brazil&#8217;s <strong>Gui Caribe<\/strong> has been 47.10 during 2025 and has been building momentum.<\/p>\n<p>Pan (2024), Chalmers (2023) and Popovici (2022) account for the last three world championships in the 100 freestyle, which only enhances the intrigue in the event.<\/p>\n<p>So, who do you think will capture the gold medal in the 100 freestyle at the World Champs?
