Monmouth Hires Hayley Masi as Head Swim Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monmouth University on Wednesday announced the hiring of Hayley Masi<\/strong> as its new head swim coach.<\/p>\n

Masi spent the last three seasons on the staff at the University of Connecticut as an assistant. She was part of the 2024 Big East Coaching Staff of the Year, a group that posted a .690 winning percentage in her three seasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the swim program at Monmouth University,\u201d Masi said in a press release<\/a>. \u201cI am looking forward to continuing the traditions of the programs while at the same time aiming for and reaching new heights. Being a local, I have a lot of New Jersey pride, and I am excited to expand both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s programs to make them a standout in not only the CAA but also in the NCAA scopes. I would like to thank Director of Athletics Jen Sansevero and the entire search committee for trusting me and having the confidence in my ability to guide this program into a new era. I can\u2019t wait to get started!\u201d<\/p>\n

Masi was previously an assistant coach at Fordham University, which finished second in the 2020 Atlantic 10 Championships and sent its first swimmer to NCAAs in more than 15 years. She arrived at Fordham after serving as the head coach<\/a> at Maine Maritime Academy.<\/p>\n

Masi swam at UMass, where she was a senior captain. She\u2019s a two-time national champion in lifeguard rescue races<\/a> and has worked with Monmouth County Junior Lifeguards and Navy Swim Camps to develop water safety in the community.<\/p>\n
