The Olympic marathon swimming was also contested in the river that threads through the French capital where there were issues over water quality and athletes fell sick with <strong>Kristof Rasovszky<\/strong> and Sharon van Rouwendaal emerging as respective champions. Given the pool programme is in the latter half of the Europeans, it means there won&#8217;t be an overlap between the two competitions with diving not on the schedule in Glasgow. The United Kingdom &#8211; which competes at the Commonwealths as Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland &#8211; are one of the European nations that could compete at both events.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, the Commonwealths ran in Birmingham from 29 July &#8211; 3 August with the Europeans getting underway on 11
