ARKADELPHIA, Ark., November 13. THE Ouachita Lady TigerSharks defeated Delta State and Centenary and the TigerSharks split with the two schools in the men\u2019s meet when the three teams swam against each other at Ouachita\u2019s Waggoner Pool.<\/p>\n
In women\u2019s action, Ouachita defeated Delta State 66-47 and defeated Centenary 98-9. Delta State\u2019s women defeated Centenary in head-to-head action 95-11. <\/p>\n
On the men\u2019s side, Ouachita defeated Centenary 83-16 while they were defeated by Delta State 66-47. DSU also defeated Centenary 101-9.<\/p>\n
Ouachita Lady TigerShark freshman Amanda Loper continued her solid effort as she took two first-place finishes in the 200 free (1:59.62) and the 200 backstroke (2:12.65). Loper\u2019s first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle was the first win for Ouachita in the meet.<\/p>\n
The 50-yard free was owned by Ouachita in both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s meets. Lady TigerSharks Louise Griffin and Syd Barker finished in first and second, respectively, while Mike Waldrop (first) and Paul Frankenberger (second) swept the top two spots for the TigerSharks.<\/p>\n
Ouachita also took first place in both 200 IM events with Emily Looney finishing first for the women and Justin Boyd finishing first in the men\u2019s race.<\/p>\n
Kelly McGowan took a first-place finish for the Lady TigerSharks in the 100-yard free and Ouachita\u2019s Yukiko Sawaki finished first in both the one- and three-meter diving events.<\/p>\n
The only other first-place finish for the TigerSharks in individual events came in the 200-yard backstroke where sophomore Chris Achey took first place, three seconds in front of the second-place swimmer.<\/p>\n
In the relay events, Ouachita swept the 40 medley relay. For the women, Loper, Ksenija Kraic, Looney and McGowan finished 10 seconds in front of DSU and for the men, Achey, Waldrop, Rinaldo Sintjago and Frankenberger edged out Delta State\u2019s top team.<\/p>\n
Sintjago, Achey, Frankenberger, and Waldrop also took first place in the 400-free relay for the TigerSharks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
