She was a three-time Conference USA champion in distance freestyle events and remains 10th in program history in the 1,650 free.<\/p>\n<p>McCall spent the last four years at TCU, two as an assistant coach and the last two as an associate head coach for the Horned Frogs. She previously spent five seasons at Florida Atlantic, as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. She began her coaching career at Toledo for two seasons, leading the mid-distance and distance groups.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/acc-swimming\">ACC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re thrilled to welcome Alice McCall as the new associate head coach for our women&#8217;s swimming team,&#8221; SMU head coach <strong>Ozzie Quevedo<\/strong> said <a href=\"https:\/\/smumustangs.com\/news\/2025\/6\/19\/womens-swimming-diving-mccall-joins-smu-as-associate-head-coach.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a press release<\/a>. \u201cAlice brings an exceptional ability to recruit top-tier Division I student-athletes, having demonstrated a unique understanding of the evolving landscape of college athletics today. With her strategic vision and innovative approach, she knows how to identify and attract talent that aligns with our program&#8217;s values and goals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>McCall hails from Wigan. She won gold medals in the 1,650 free and 800 free relay at the Conference USA championships as a freshman, to go with silver in the 500 free and bronze in the 200 free. She was part of a conference-winning 800 free relay as a junior.
