Olympians Joined By Emerging Stars On Australia A Team For TYR Summer Championships in Irvine<\/strong><\/p>\n

Australia will send a team of 21 swimmers led by Olympians Ben Armbruster<\/strong> and Se-Bom Lee<\/strong> and a host of emerging stars to contest the TYR Summer Championships in Irvine in August.<\/p>\n

Armbruster (Bond, QLD) was one of several swimmers to clock inside the World Championship qualifying standards at the recent Trials Meet in Adelaide but finished outside the top two for Singapore.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old Paris Olympian was out-touched by teammate Jesse Coleman<\/strong> for second in the 100m butterfly final won by dual Olympian Matt Temple<\/strong> (Marion, SA) 51.00, followed by Coleman in 51.09 and Armbruster 51.45 \u2013 a top 25 time in the world.<\/p>\n

The Chris Mooney<\/strong> coached Armbruster was also second in the 50m backstroke, won by World Champion Isaac Cooper<\/strong> and second in the 50m butterfly won by Olympic champion Kyle Chalmers<\/strong>, also narrowly missing a helter-skelter 50m freestyle final.<\/p>\n

Lee finished third behind Singapore qualifiers, St Peters Western, QLD pair Brendon Smith<\/strong>and Will Petric, <\/strong>narrowly missing the QT, finishing third.<\/p>\n

Other strong performers rewarded with selection on the Australia A for the Irvine meet from August 5-8, include Amelia Weber<\/strong> who was third behind St Peters Western teammates Lani Pallister<\/strong> and Jamie Perkins <\/strong>in the 400m freestyle, Weber also clocking a QT.<\/p>\n

Pallister winning the 400m to join an elite group of seven swimmers in history under the magical 4 minutes, winning in 3:59.72, followed by Perkins (4:04.03) and Weber (4:06.78) \u2013 a time ranking her 17th<\/sup> on the 2025 World Rankings.<\/p>\n

Another to watch is Thomas Nowakowski<\/strong> (USC Spartans, QLD) who was third behind Olympic champions Cam McEvoy<\/strong> and Kyle Chalmers<\/strong> in the 50 final \u2013 McEvoy winning in 21.30, followed by Chalmers in 21.68 and Nowakowski in 21.78 \u2013 14th<\/sup> in the world with Australia\u2019s sprinting stocks on the rise<\/p>\n

Tania Kritzinger<\/strong>, one of the latest inclusions into the Rackley Swim Team\u2019s Athlete Support Program has, also been rewarded after her breakthrough performances at the Trials after finishing third to Pallister and Perkins in the 800m in 8:32.77 and second to Pallister in then 100m in 16:16.04 \u2013 both QT.<\/p>\n

The Australian team will be led by National Youth Coach Simon Cusack. a four-time Olympic coach who has spent 20 years coaching the likes of swimming legends Cate <\/strong>and Bronte Campbell<\/strong> and Australia\u2019s most decorated Paralympic champion Ellie Cole.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cProviding international racing opportunities for this group of athletes is a key to ensure continued upward pressure for places in the senior Dolphins team,\u201d Cusack said.<\/p>\n
