Antoine Viquerat Leads Destruction of 50 Breast National Record at French Championships<\/strong><\/p>\n

Three men went under the French record in the 50 breaststroke on day four of the country’s national selection meet, with the win going to\u00a0Antoine Viquerat<\/strong>. Additionally,\u00a0Yohann Ndoye-Brouard<\/strong> won his second backstroke event of the meet as France assembles a strong group bound for the World Championships in Singapore.<\/p>\n

Entering the day, the French record in the 50 breast belonged to Giacomo Perez Dortona<\/strong> at 27.36, set during the supersuit era of 2009. In prelims, that mark fell to J\u00e9r\u00e9mie Delbois<\/strong>, who clocked 27.34. In the evening, Delbois swam even faster with his time of 27.16, but it was only good enough for third place as Viquerat won in 27.02 and\u00a0Pierre Goudeneche<\/strong> placed second in 27.10. All three men beat the Worlds qualifying standard of 27.20.<\/p>\n
