Tessa Giele Caps Dutch Championships with Double; Caspar Corbeau Wins 100 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/p>\n

The final day of the Dutch Championships featured a pair of victories from Tessa Giele<\/strong>, who beat the competition in the women’s 50-meter backstroke and 100 butterfly. Giele opened the last session of the four-day meet by winning the 50 backstroke in 27.53, which was one of two performances under the 28-second barrier. Giele was followed to the wall by Maaike<\/strong> de Waard<\/strong>, who recorded a time of 27.87.<\/p>\n

Giele returned to the pool later in the night to claim top honors in the 100 butterfly, thanks to a performance of 57.35. Giele was out in 26.72 and came home in 30.63 to defeat runnerup Femke Spiering<\/strong> (59.91) by more than two seconds.<\/p>\n
