His previous mark was 3:48.95. His new record was enough to take the top seed into tonight&#8217;s final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rex Maurer<\/strong> took the second seed in 3:47.22, followed by <strong>Ryan Erisman<\/strong> (3:48.19). <strong>Luke<\/strong> <strong>Hobson<\/strong> (3:48.29), <strong>David Johnston<\/strong> (3:48.45), <strong>Alec Enyeart<\/strong> (3:48.46) and <strong>Kieran Smith<\/strong> (3:48.96).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carson Foster<\/strong> and <strong>Luke Ellis<\/strong> scratched the event.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"613780\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>US Nationals: Men&#8217;s 100 Breaststroke<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Josh Matheny<\/strong> bested the field in the prelims with a 59.80, the only swimmer to break a minute in the field.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campbell McKean<\/strong>, who won the 50 breast, went a 1:00.18 to win his heat in the 100.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> won his heat in 1:00.27 ahead of <strong>Gabe Nunziata<\/strong> (1:00.98).<\/p>\n<p>Matheny led McKean, Andrew, <strong>Nate Germonprez<\/strong> (1:00.33).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jassen Yep,<\/strong> the NCAA champion, took the fifth seed in 1:00.43, followed by <strong>Luke Barr<\/strong> (1:00.63), <strong>AJ Pouch<\/strong> (1:00.74) and Nunziata.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" ahead of <strong>Jack Aikins<\/strong> (53.35).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hudson Williams<\/strong> took the third spot in 53.62, followed by <strong>Keaton Jones<\/strong> (53.87), <strong>Will Modglin<\/strong> (53.88), <strong>Jack Wilkening<\/strong> (53.90), <strong>Tommy Janton<\/strong> (53.92) and <strong>Destin Lasco<\/strong> (54.03).<\/p>\n<p>Both 50 back qualifiers<strong>,
