But unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/u-s-nationals-olympic-stars-poised-to-shine-again-womens-predictions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the U.S. women<\/a>, who return almost all their major contributors from the Paris team, the American men will head to this summer&#8217;s World Championships without key veterans\u00a0<strong>Ryan Murphy<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nic Fink<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Hunter Armstrong<\/strong>, who comprised the entire silver-medal-winning men&#8217;s medley relay in Paris. Murphy and Fink also were responsible for an individual medal each, one-third of the team&#8217;s total.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/u-s-nationals-olympic-stars-poised-to-shine-again-womens-predictions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Women&#8217;s Predictions<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The returning medal-winners from the Olympics are include, <strong>Carson Foster<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Luke Hobson<\/strong> while sprinters\u00a0<strong>Jack Alexy<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Chris Guiliano<\/strong>, the versatile <strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> and rising star\u00a0<strong>Thomas Heilman<\/strong> are among the swimmers aiming to build upon their Olympic performances and claim larger roles for the team next month in Singapore.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/2025-us-national-championships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Complete Meet Coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaswimming.org\/event\/2025\/06\/03\/default-calendar\/National-Championships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Swimming Info<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tuesday, June 3<\/h2>\n<p><strong>200 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Luca Urlando<\/li>\n<li>Thomas Heilman<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Urlando is looking to build on a phenomenal spring, in which he swam the fastest 200-yard fly ever before clocking 1:52.37 in the meters event to become the second-fastest American ever. Foster could also factor in here.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>100 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Jack Alexy<\/li>\n<li>Chris Guiliano<\/li>\n<li>Brooks Curry<\/li>\n<li>Shaine Casas<\/li>\n<li>Destin Lasco<\/li>\n<li>Maximus Williamson<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Alexy and Guiliano are the favorites, but there are a dozen or more swimmers capable of making a run for a relay spot.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>1500 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bobby Finke<\/li>\n<li>Luke Ellis<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Anyone&#8217;s game behind the Olympic champion, and the teenage Ellis looks poised for a drop.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Wednesday, June 4<\/h2>\n<p><strong>200 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Luke Hobson<\/li>\n<li>Carson Foster<\/li>\n<li>Kieran Smith<\/li>\n<li>Rex Maurer<\/li>\n<li>Chris Guiliano<\/li>\n<li>Jack Dahlgren<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Once again, the relay spots are up for grabs, but Hobson is the clear standout.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>200 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Josh Matheny<\/li>\n<li>AJ Pouch<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Pouch qualifies for his first senior-level national team while NCAA champion\u00a0Jassen Yep makes a push. Teenagers Josh Bey, Jordan Willis and Gabe Nunziata could factor in.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>200 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Jack Aikins<\/li>\n<li>Keaton Jones<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>These two swimmers plus Lasco have all clocked 1:54s in their career.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>50 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Shaine Casas<\/li>\n<li>Michael Andrew<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Expect Andrew to contend in most of the 50-meter events as he plots his international return following a two-year absence. He won bronze in this event at the 2022 World Championships.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Thursday, June 5<\/h2>\n<p><strong>400 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Carson Foster<\/li>\n<li>Bobby Finke<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>With Chase Kalisz absent, Finke, Smith and Maurer could add the medley to their Worlds schedule.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>100 Butterfly<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dare Rose<\/li>\n<li>Shaine Casas<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Don&#8217;t sleep on Heilman or Urlando here, but Rose is in position to return to the World Championships after narrowly missing the Paris team.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>50 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Michael Andrew<\/li>\n<li>Brian Benzing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Andrew was the 2022 Worlds bronze medalist in this race as well, and with Fink absent, he is the clear favorite.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>50 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Shaine Casas<\/li>\n<li>Quintin McCarty<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>McCarty could be a major beneficiary of the addition of 50-meter races to the Olympic program.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Friday, June 6<\/h2>\n<p><strong>400 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Rex Maurer<\/li>\n<li>Carson Foster<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>This is Maurer&#8217;s best chance to emerge internationally following his breakout college season. If Foster passes on this event, Smith is in position to take advantage.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>100 Breaststroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Josh Matheny<\/li>\n<li>Campbell McKean<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>The quickly-improving McKean has the top time by an America thus far in 2025 entering Nationals.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>100 Backstroke<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Jack Aikins<\/li>\n<li>Shaine Casas<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>The U.S. men are eagerly seeking standouts here without Murphy and Armstrong in the mix. Will Modglin and Tommy Janton are also well-positioned entering the meet.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Saturday, June 7<\/h2>\n<p><strong>200 IM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Carson Foster<\/li>\n<li>Shaine Casas<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>This is one of few events where the Americans could have two legitimate medal contenders in Singapore.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>800 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bobby Finke<\/li>\n<li>Rex Maurer<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Anyone getting under the 7:50-barrier will be well-positioned to capture a Worlds spot.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>50 Freestyle<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Jack Alexy<\/li>\n<li>Chris Guiliano<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Alexy did not make the Olympic team in this event, but he won silver at the 2023 Worlds.
