Michigan Hires Two-Time Olympian Brandon Loschiavo as Diving Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n

The University of Michigan on Monday announced the hiring of Brandon Loschiavo<\/strong> as its diving coach.<\/p>\n

Loschiavo competed for the United States at the Tokyo<\/a> and Paris Olympics, as well as four World Championships after a stellar college career at Purdue.<\/p>\n

“I’m beyond excited to continue to build on the legacy of the Michigan Swim and Dive program,” Loschiavo said in a university statement<\/a>. “I love the Olympic drive and performance-based culture Matt Bowe is creating, so to be able to help build on top of that incredible foundation is an honor. I’m incredibly excited to see where we can take this program together.”<\/p>\n

He finished 11th in the Olympics on 10-meter platform in 2021 and 17th in the Paris Games<\/a>. His best Worlds result was placing fifth in the mixed team event at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, and he has a bronze medal from the 2022 Diving World Cup.<\/p>\n

On the boards, the native of Huntington Beach, Calif., was a two-time individual platform national champion and five-time synchro champion in USA Diving competition. He won the NCAA platform title in 2021<\/a>, graduating that year from Purdue with a bachelor\u2019s degree in communications.<\/p>\n

Loschiavo began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant coach at Purdue and gained experience at clubs in Los Angeles for two years. He spent last season as an assistant diving coach at Missouri, helping four Tigers divers reach NCAAs.<\/p>\n
