She got to the wall in 1:56.44 and was nearly two seconds ahead of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow Olympians <strong>Erin Gemmell<\/strong> (1:58.15), <strong>Claire Weinstein<\/strong> (1:58.29) and <strong>Alex Shackell<\/strong> (1:58.62) followed, with <strong>Isabel Ivey<\/strong> also breaking 1:59 and taking the fifth seed in 1:58.92.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the top 8 were <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong> (1:59.11), Olympic 100 free champion <strong>Simone Manuel<\/strong> (1:59.25) and<strong> Rylee Erisman<\/strong> (1:59.31).<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Men&#8217;s 200 Freestyle<\/h2>\n<p>This event had an international flavor as <strong>Leon Marchand<\/strong> grabbed the eighth seed in 1:48.05 to reach the finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomas Koski<\/strong> was the fastest in the men&#8217;s 200 free prelims, reaching the wall in 1:46.43.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomas Kavikonis<\/strong> was next at 1:47.50, ahead of <strong>Jack Dahlgren<\/strong> (1:47.81) and U.S Olympians <strong>Carson<\/strong> <strong>Foster<\/strong> (1:47.87), <strong>Luke Hobson<\/strong> (1:47.94) and <strong>Aaron Shackell<\/strong> (1:48.01).<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Women&#8217;s 50 Breaststroke<\/h2>\n<p>The big names took care of business in the 50 breaststroke at Olympic champion <strong>Lilly King<\/strong> grabbed the top seed with a swim of 30.70.<\/p>\n<p>Olympian <strong>Emma Weber<\/strong> took the second seed in 30.87, ahead of<strong> Skyler Smith<\/strong> (30.95) and Olympian <strong>Alex Walsh<\/strong> (30.97).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shona Branton<\/strong> and <strong>Lucy Thomas<\/strong> tied for the fifth seed in 31.27, while <strong>Sophie Angus<\/strong> (31.29) and <strong>Caroline Larsen<\/strong> (31.40) rounded out the top 8.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gabrielle Rose<\/strong>, 47, took the 10th spot to reach the B final in 31.63.<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Men&#8217;s 50 Breaststroke<\/h2>\n<p>Olympian <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong>, the American record-holder in the event, grabbed the top seed in 27.02, a half second off his top mark.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mikel Schreuders<\/strong> took the second seed in 27.38, followed by <strong>Pavel Romanov<\/strong> (27.46), <strong>Aleksas<\/strong> <strong>Savickas<\/strong> (27.52), <strong>Campbell McKean<\/strong> (27.53), <strong>Evgenii Somov<\/strong> (27.62), <strong>Denis Petrashov<\/strong> (27.63) and <strong>Noel de Geus<\/strong> (27.72).<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Women&#8217;s 50 Butterfly<\/h2>\n<p>Olympian <strong>Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> was just four hundredths of a second off her American record in the 50 butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>Walsh took the top seed in the event with a 25.15 swim. Her best time was 25.11 in 2023, which could be in danger tonight.<\/p>\n<p>Olympic teammate <strong>Kate Douglass<\/strong> took the second seed in 25.71, just ahead of another Olympian, Regan Smith (26.04).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charlotte Crush<\/strong> took the fourth see din 26.38, followed by <strong>Beata Nelson<\/strong> (26.45), <strong>Mena Boardman<\/strong> (26.56), <strong>Lismar Lyon<\/strong> (26.58) and Canadian Olympian<strong> Penny Oleksiak<\/strong> (26.61).<\/p>\n<p>Olympic champion <strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> took the ninth seed in 26.73 and Canadian Olympic champion <strong>Kylie<\/strong> <strong>Masse<\/strong> was 10th (27.00).<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Men&#8217;s 50 Butterfly<\/h2>\n<p>Trinidad and Tobago Olympian <strong>Dylan Carter<\/strong> continues to impress in the sprint events.<\/p>\n<p>He got to the wall in 23.30 to take the top seed in the 50 fly.<\/p>\n<p>Canadian Olympian<strong> Ilya Kharun<\/strong> took the second seed just two hundredths of a second behind Carter in 23.32.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Olympians <strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> and <strong>Michael Andrew t<\/strong>ied for the third seed in 23.45, Andrew having just come off the 50 breast minutes earlier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Caeleb Dressel<\/strong> took the fifth seed in 23.58, followed by <strong>Kamal Muhammad (<\/strong>23.83), <strong>Quintin<\/strong> <strong>McCarty<\/strong> (24.03) and Olympian<strong> Chris Guiliano<\/strong> (24.05).<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Women&#8217;s 200 Backstroke<\/h2>\n<p>Olympians <strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> and<strong> Summer McIntosh<\/strong> began their showdown with strong swims in the 200 backstroke prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Smith took the top seed in 2:08.65, while McIntosh was just behind in 2:08.91, setting up an intriguing head-to-head final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charlotte Crush<\/strong> took the third seed in 2:09.76, ahead of <strong>Audrey Derivaux<\/strong> (2:11.01), <strong>Claire Curzan<\/strong> (2:11.19), <strong>Sadie Buckley<\/strong> (2:11.35), <strong>Rhyan White (<\/strong>2:11.82) and <strong>Erica Pelaez<\/strong> (2:11.89)<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Men&#8217;s 200 Backstroke<\/h2>\n<p>Olympic champion <strong>Hubert Kos<\/strong> was the lone swimmer in the field to break 2 minutes during prelims of the 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Kos led from start to finish and touched the wall in 1:58.54.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carson Foster<\/strong> took the second seed in 2:00.17, ahead of <strong>Gavin Keogh<\/strong> (2:00.46), <strong>Jack Harvey<\/strong> (2:01.05), <strong>Jack Aikins<\/strong> (2:01.54), <strong>Yeziel Morales<\/strong> (2:01.58),<strong> Aiden Norman<\/strong> (2:01.61) and <strong>Caleb<\/strong> <strong>Maldari<\/strong> (2:02.01).<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Women&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h2>\n<p>Olympian <strong>Emma Weyant<\/strong> and U.S. national team member <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong> were the two swimmers to reach 4:40s in the prelims of the 400 IM.<\/p>\n<p>Weyant got to the wall in 4:40.43 and Hayes was just behind in 4:40.70.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellen Walshe<\/strong> took the third spot in 4:42.10, ahead of<strong> Katie Grimes<\/strong> (4:43.50).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kayla Han<\/strong> took the fifth seed in 4:45.11, followed by <strong>Eleanor Sun<\/strong> (4:45.59), <strong>Caroline Bricker<\/strong> (4:46.21) and <strong>Helena Rosendahl Bach<\/strong> (4:46.82).<\/p>\n<h2>TYR Pro Swim Series: Men&#8217;s 400 IM<\/h2>\n<p>World record holder <strong>Leon Marchand<\/strong> got to the wall in 4:21.04 during prelims of the 400 IM.<\/p>\n<p>The time was good enough for the second seed behind <strong>Bobby Finke<\/strong> (4:20.34).<\/p>\n<p>Marchand holds the world record in 4:02.50 and presumably has plenty more in the tank for finals after swimming two events during prelims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tommy Bried<\/strong> took the third seed in 4:21.52, followed by <strong>Grant Sanders<\/strong> (4:23.36), <strong>Anthony Dornoff<\/strong> (4:23.99),<strong> Noah Cakir<\/strong> (4:24.11), <strong>Luke Ellis<\/strong> (4:24.14) and <strong>Kevin Vargas<\/strong> (4:24.17).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Day 3 of the 2025 TYR Pro Swim Series stop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, started with some strong swims by some star power.
