European bronze medallist Ksawery Masiuk<\/strong> lowered his national 100m backstroke record to 52.55 at the Polish Championships<\/strong> in Lublin.<\/p>\n Out in 25.35 and back in 27.20, the Paris Olympian took 0.03 off the standard he set in the semis of the 2022 World Championships<\/strong> in Budapest before going on to finish sixth in the final.<\/p>\n It was the seventh-fastest time in the world this year and elevates him to sixth-swiftest performer with Kliment Kolesnikov<\/strong> and his 52.04 atop the rankings. Masiuk\u2019s time was well within the cut for the World Championships<\/strong> in Singapore as he adds another berth to his 100 fly slot.<\/p>\n The 20-year-old already has two world silver medals in the 50 back from Budapest 2022<\/strong> and Doha 2024<\/strong> and he fell 0.07 short of the podium at Fukuoka 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n Aleksander Stys<\/strong> (54.88) and Filip Kosinski<\/strong> (55.04) followed Masiuk home.<\/p>\n There was also a Polish men\u2019s 200 free record where Kamil Sieradzki<\/strong> stopped the clock at 1:46.02. It was 0.68 within the A cut for Singapore and sliced 0.17 from the national standard of 1:46.19 held by Kacper Majchrzak<\/strong> since the 2017 Universiade. Jakub Walter<\/strong> (1:50.15) and Mikolay Filipiak<\/strong> (1:50.49) claimed the minor spoils.<\/p>\n Wiktoria Gu\u015b\u0107 <\/strong>was the only woman inside 2mins in the equivalent race in 1:59.82 but she was outside the cut.<\/p>\n Adela Piskorska<\/strong> booked her ticket in the 100 back where she posted 1:00.38 to dip inside the cut and was followed home by Paulina Peda<\/strong> and Varvara Hlushchenko<\/strong> who went stroke for stroke on the second 50 to both touch in 1:01.12.<\/p>\n Aleksandra Knop<\/strong> went 4:41.07 in the women\u2019s 400IM to qualify for a second event in Singapore following her 200 back performance on Monday. Oliwia Przybylska<\/strong> (4:57.33) and Gabriela Herbreder<\/strong> (5:02.82) took the minor spoils.<\/p>\n Filip Suchanaski<\/strong> led throughout to take the men’s long medley title in 4:22.98, a time outside the A cut. Erik Major<\/strong> (4:23.91) and Michal Piela<\/strong> (4:26.95) were the next men home.<\/p>\n Dominika Sztandera<\/strong> was just 0.12 off her Polish record in the 50m breaststroke prelims in 30.67. However, it was Barbara Mazurkiewicz<\/strong> who triumphed in the final in 30.73 meaning both women had posted QTs.\u00a0Jan Kalusowski<\/strong> was 0.02 shy of the cut in the men\u2019s race in 27.35.<\/p>\n Day one saw four swimmers book their tickets to Singapore.<\/p>\n Jakub Majerski<\/strong> went 51.72 to win the 100 fly in which he won bronze at the 2024 World Championships in Doha. He was followed home by Masiuk who clocked 51.93 as Adrian Jaszkiewicz<\/strong> won bronze in 52.13.<\/p>\n The worlds QT is 51.77 with Majerski dipping 0.05 inside and although Masiuk was outside the cut in the final, his prelims time of 51.73 \u2013 a PB – was sufficient to book a slot.<\/p>\n Masiuk returned for the 200 back but missed the 1:58.07 A cut in 1:58.97.<\/p>\n Knop hit a huge PB of 2:10.38 to win the women\u2019s 200 back and secure a slot followed by Laura Bernat<\/strong> (2:11.11) and Piskorska (2:12.47)<\/p>\n Piotr Ludwiczak<\/strong> clinched the men\u2019s 50 free title in 22.02, inside the A cut to secure a ticket.<\/p>\nTickets Booked To Singapore<\/h3>\n
