That time gets the Indiana swimmer under the A cut for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, set at 1:00.46 for the event later this year in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>Pulido was second in the 100 back in the meet, going 1:00.69 in prelims and 1:00.65 in finals. The Southern Illinois swimmer was the only Mexican female pool Olympian at the Paris Games last summer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/americas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Americas Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Puente laid down a time of 27.23 seconds in the men\u2019s 50 breaststroke to down the national mark set at the 2023 World Championships by <strong>Miguel de Lara<\/strong> at 27.38. Puente\u2019s record time came in prelims, and he returned to win the event in 27.48. The Worlds A cut is 27.33.<\/p>\n<p>The two records were the only Worlds A cuts at the Selectivo a Eventos Internacionales meet held at Centro de Alto Rendimiento \u2013 Baja California.<\/p>\n<p>Grana ended up winning four events at the five-day meet. She set B cuts for Worlds in the 100 fly (59.79) and the 200 back (2:11.86). She\u2019s nearer the A cut in the 200 back, which is 2:11.08. She also won the 200 individual medley on the final day of the meet.<\/p>\n<p>Pulido won the 50 back in 28.50 to beat Grana\u2019s 28.76. Both are B cuts, chasing the A cut of 28.22. Pulido also won the 100 free in 56.22.<\/p>\n<p>Puente swept the three men\u2019s breaststroke events. He went 2:16.12 to claim the 200 and 1:01.75 in the 100, which is a Worlds B cut.<\/p>\n<p>The meet produced two other B cuts. Stanford sprinter <strong>Andres Dupont Cabrera<\/strong> went 49.53 to win the 100 free. <strong>David Medina<\/strong> clocked in at 1:50.38 to win the 200 free, just .05 inside the B cut. Medina also won the 400 free.<\/p>\n<p>Olympian <strong>Jorge Iga<\/strong> won the men\u2019s 50 fly and 100 fly. <strong>Rafael Arizpe<\/strong> claimed the 200 fly, 400 IM and 200 back; he was second to Iga in the 100 fly and second to <strong>Maximiliano Vega Cuevas<\/strong> in the 200 IM. <strong>Diego Camacho Salgado<\/strong> won the 50 back and 100 back. He was second to Arizpe in the 200 back and third in the 50 free, won by <strong>Alfredo Velazquez Coronado<\/strong> in 23.02.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrea Sansores<\/strong> won the 50 fly (27.42) and 50 free (25.75).
