Racing at the Berlin Open on Sunday, Kohler threatened her national record in the 100-meter butterfly, winning the event in 56.33. That swim, the fastest in the world this year, was not far off the German record of 56.11, which Kohler produced at last year&#8217;s World Championships in Doha.<\/p>\n<p>Coming off a national record in the 50 butterfly on Saturday in Berlin, Kohler split 25.82 on the way to her 56.33 outing and won the event by nearly four seconds. The weekend should serve as a confidence boost ahead of this summer&#8217;s World Championships in Singapore. Last year, Kohler captured gold in the 100 fly at the World Champs in Doha and just missed the podium in the event at the Olympic Games in Paris, where she placed fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Kohler didn&#8217;t just excel in the 100 fly on Sunday, as she also prevailed in the 50 freestyle, behind a time of 25.07.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/schwimmen.berlin\/veranstaltungen\/bso2025\/meldeergebnis\">Results<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Singapore&#8217;s <strong>Mikkel Lee<\/strong> earned his second sprint title of the weekend when he dipped under the 22-second barrier in the 50 freestyle. Following up a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/anna-elendt-looks-sharp-in-breaststroke-events-at-berlin-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">victory in the 50 butterfly<\/a>, Lee was quickest in the 50 with a mark of 21.99. The sprint crown in the 50 breaststroke was earned by <strong>Melvin Imoudu<\/strong>, as he recorded a time of 27.41.<\/p>\n<p>Turkey&#8217;s <strong>Arda Akkoyun<\/strong> was the winner of the men&#8217;s 100 fly, going 52.60, and <strong>Cedric Buessing<\/strong> (2:03.06) topped the field in the 200 individual medley. <strong>Lise Seidel<\/strong> (1:00.74) got to the wall first in the women&#8217;s 100 backstroke.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Angelina Kohler Doubles at Berlin Open;
