Taylor Ruck Leads Canadian Olympians to Wins on Night 2 of Speedo Canadian Open<\/strong><\/p>\n

Taylor Ruck<\/strong> and fellow Olympians Ingrid Wilm<\/strong> and Mary-Sophie<\/strong> Harvey<\/strong> picked up wins on the second night of the Speed Canadian Swimming Open Friday night.<\/p>\n

Ruck went 55.16 to win the women\u2019s 100 freestyle at the at the Edmonton Kinsmen Sports Centre. That time was just ahead of Ella Jansen,<\/strong> who went 55.57, and Syliva Statkevicius,<\/strong> who was third in 55.73. The A final included teen Madison Kryger<\/strong> in fourth, veteran Brooklyn Douthwright<\/strong> in fifth and Wilm in sixth.<\/p>\n

Wilm started the session by winning the 50 backstroke in 28.18 seconds. That\u2019s under the A standard for the 2025 World Championships (28.22), though it\u2019s four tenths slower than the meet record she set last year. Lora Komoroczy<\/strong> finished second in 28.90, followed by a pair of 16-year-olds in Kryger and Lucy Wiens.<\/strong><\/p>\n
