NCAA Men’s Championships: Butterfly Showdown Looms After Strong Morning from Contenders (Heat Sheets and Up-Downs)<\/em><\/p>\n

The 2025 Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships are heating up after big morning prelims performances from Texas, Cal, Florida, Georgia and Indiana.<\/p>\n

The 100 butterfly will start the Day 3 finals session with a bang.<\/p>\n

Florida’s Josh Liendo,<\/strong> Cal’s Dare Rose<\/strong> and Arizona State’s Ilya Kharun<\/strong> will line up alongside Georgia’s Luca Urlando<\/strong>, Michigan’s Tyler Ray<\/strong>, Stanford’s Andrei Minakov,<\/strong> Virginia Tech’s Youssef Ramadan<\/strong> and Florida’s Scott Buff<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The past three winners – Liendo, Ramadan and Minakov – are all in the final.<\/p>\n

After winning the 500 free, Texas sophomore Rex Maurer<\/strong> has the top seed in the 400 IM ahead of Cal fifth-year Lucas Henveaux<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The 200 freestyle saw Texas put two up with top-seeded Luke Hobson<\/strong> and Chris Guiliano<\/strong>. Cal also has two up with 2-3 seeds Jack Alexy<\/strong> and Gabriel Jett<\/strong> as Tennessee’s 50 free champion Jordan Crooks<\/strong> looms.<\/p>\n

Indiana put two up and four down in the 100 breaststroke, including top seed Finn Brooks<\/strong> and third-seed Caspar Corbeau<\/strong>, who will line up next to Florida’s Julian Smith<\/strong>, the NCAA record holder.<\/p>\n

The NCAA 100 back will be a showdown between Florida’s Jonny Marshall<\/strong>, Texas’ Hubert Kos<\/strong> and Cal’s Destin Lasco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
