NCAA Men’s Championships: Indiana’s Quentin Henninger Soars to 1-Meter Title<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The first diving event of the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships was 1-meter from Federal Way, Washington, on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Indiana’s Quentin Henninger<\/strong> was the top seed out of the morning, the only to break 400 points in the prelims.<\/p>\n

The senior Hoosier kept it going in prime time.<\/p>\n

Henninger led at 223.50 through three dives in the final.<\/p>\n

He threw down a 63 in the fourth round (286.50) and trailed Stanford’s Jack Ryan<\/strong> (289.95) by just three points, ensuring it will come down to the wire.<\/p>\n

Henninger retook the lead in the fifth round and was up 16 points over Ryan with one dive remaining.<\/p>\n

Ryan did a reverse 1 1\/2 somersault with 2 1\/2 twists. It got some 9s and put him at 417.45.<\/p>\n

Henninger did a 2 1\/2 somersault with one twist and nailed it. Het got nines and eights and won with a 434.65 as the final dive landed him 78.40 points and the win after coming up just short in past years.<\/p>\n

“It feels great. It has been a long four years, and I am finally starting to put it all together,” Henninger said. “It is coming together at the right time. The last dive, I was nervous but I just had to trust in my training. I tried to keep my head pretty stable.”<\/p>\n

USC senior Moritz Wesemann<\/strong> took third with 404.30 points, nailing his final dive to put the pressure on the top two, who delivered.<\/p>\n

Utah’s Elias Petersen<\/strong> took fourth with a score of 389.25.<\/p>\n
