The report breaks down the number of members, where they are from and more. The report was prepared by the Member Services staff based on registration data for the 2024 membership year (September 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024).<\/p>\n<p>Among the highlights:<\/p>\n<p>USA Swimming had 376,479 individual members in 2024, including more than 70,000 new members. There were 2,798 club members.<\/p>\n<p>Membership rose from 2023 to 2024 by 0.13%.<\/p>\n<p>The highest age-group total was age 8 and younger, which had 41,777 members. Age 11 was next at 33,445.<\/p>\n<p>More than 53% of the athletes in 2024 were female with nearly 47% male.<\/p>\n<p>Of the seasonal members, 2.2% identify as Black, 12.5% identify as Asian, 5.5% identify as multi-racial and 0.3 identify as American Indian or Alaskan Native.<\/p>\n<p>Of the year-round members, 6.1% identify as Asian, 2% identify as Black, 2.5% identify as multi-racial, 0.4% identify as American Indian or Alaskan Native and 0.2% identify as Hawaiian or Pacific Islander. 75% of the members are white.<\/p>\n<p>USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming in the United States. The organization promotes the culture of swimming by creating safe and healthy opportunities for athletes and coaches of all backgrounds to participate and advance in the sport through clubs, events, and education.
