Night 3 is headed in that direction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ilya Kharun<\/strong> started the night for the Sun Devils by going 44.13 to win the men\u2019s 100 butterfly. That\u2019s off his in-season time of 43.85, and it allows the conference (43.75) and meet (44.06) records set in 2017 by <strong>Joseph Schooling<\/strong> to stand. He starts Thursday with a score of 383.10 that just edges <strong>Elias Petersen<\/strong> of Utah for the springboard sweep. Ekdahl had been fourth in prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Petersen was on the podium again, the Utah junior scoring 382.85. That duo unlatched from the field early. Ekdahl\u2019s teammate <strong>Elliott Dillon<\/strong> was third in 330.90, nudging Cincinnati\u2019s Will Claus by 1.4 points.<\/p>\n<p>Prelims leader <strong>Gage Dubois,<\/strong> second on 3-meter, slipped to sixth for Arizona. In between was another conference newcomers, <strong>Haakon Naughton<\/strong> of Arizona third in 44.94.<\/p>\n<p>That demotes <strong>Jordan Tiffany<\/strong> to fifth. He went 45.52. Sonia Vaishnani came back in 27.81, enough to hold off Charli Bown and deny her the IM double by .05 seconds. Vaishnani went 4:10.28. She had secured the top seed out of prelims. Brown won the 200 IM with Vaishnani third Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>Libby Michel of Cincinnati was third in 4:13.75. BYU took fourth and fifth, led by Lucy Warnick. Matheson was second in 3:41.45. <strong>Cale Martter<\/strong> finished third in 3:42.29. Martter had won the 200 IM Wednesday with Hochwalt .36 back.<\/p>\n<p>ASU\u2019s <strong>Reece Grady<\/strong> finished sixth, stretching ASU\u2019s lead to 380 points. She was four tenths clear of in-state rival <strong>Kayman Neal,<\/strong> who launched a valiant bid to disrupt the ASU hierarchy. The Luxembourg Olympian was fourth Thursday in 1:33.01.<\/p>\n<p>The top seven spots all went to the Arizona schools. <strong>Jonny Kulow,<\/strong> the 50 free winner, finished second in 1:32.41.
