The Longhorns women\u2019s were no slouch, winning 22 titles, interrupted four times by current SEC rival Texas A&amp;M. You have to go back to titles by Nebraska in the conference\u2019s first two seasons, in 1997 and 1998, for a non-Texas school.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/big-12-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big 12 Swimming Coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/sidearmstats.com\/big12\/swim\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big 12 Championships Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/big12sports.com\/tournaments\/?id=1022&amp;path=swim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big 12 Championships Meet Hub<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instead of focusing on who won\u2019t be at the first neutral-site Big 12 Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, it\u2019s just as notable who is in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/conference-realignment-produces-odd-but-exciting-swimming-results-with-usual-ncaa-greatness-to-come\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rampant reshuffle of college swimming<\/a>. The Big 12 will feature a meet-record seven men\u2019s teams and 10 women\u2019s, up from five and eight, respectively, a year ago. The new members include the reigning NCAA men\u2019s champion, Arizona State, though much more than just the conference has changed in Tempe since last year\u2019s title.<\/p>\n<p>New blood will shine: Only three athletes have the chance to defend their titles from last year, through the Texas exodus (Texodus?) and the graduation of BYU\u2019s 200 fly champ <strong>Brad Prolo.<\/strong> Kansas diver <strong>Shiyun Lai,<\/strong> last year\u2019s women\u2019s diving newcomer of the meet, was the only non-Texas female athlete to win a title last year. That leaves plenty of opportunity for Arizona, Arizona State and Utah as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/pac-12-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">they emerge from the ashes of the Pac-12<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The five-day meet kicks off Tuesday night. All the action:<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 200 medley relay<\/h4>\n<p>Three A cuts and a silver medal tie have the meet off to a flying start. Arizona State picked up its maiden Big 12 Championships win, going 1:35.63. They were two tenths quicker than the conference record set in 2022 by Texas and more than a second quicker than the time that quartet set at Big 12s that year (1:22.24).<\/p>\n<p>Arizona finished second in 1:23.79, .17 off the A cut.
