Maximus Williamson Drops High School Record 1:32.63 in States Prelims<\/strong><\/p>\n

Maximus Williamson<\/strong> set the national high school record on Friday morning in prelims of the Texas high school championships.<\/p>\n

Williamson, swimming for Keller High School at the University Interscholastic League 6A championships, went 1:32.63 to set the pace in preliminaries at Austin\u2019s Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.<\/p>\n

That swim continues the gradual reduction in the national record, trimming .05 off the mark set in 2023<\/a> by Florida\u2019s Kaii Winkler<\/strong>. Winkler\u2019s time had undercut Aaron Shackell\u2019s<\/strong> mark of 1:32.85 from earlier that year<\/a>. The Carmel swimmer had finally broken through the enduring mark set in 2019 by Carson Foster<\/strong> at 1:32.99.<\/p>\n
