She ended up 22 points ahead of South Carolina\u2019s <strong>Sophie Verzyl,<\/strong> who got silver in 328.40.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.secsports.com\/championships\/swimming-and-diving-championships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Championships Hub<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/documents\/2025\/2\/17\/Day_1_Women_s_1-Meter_Diving.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming Night 1 Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As a freshman, the native of La Paz, Mexico, finished second on 1-meter and 3-meter at SECs to go with the platform title, though Monroy\u2019s seventh place at NCAAs in 1-meter was her best of the national meet.<\/p>\n<p>After Verzyl came the Texas contingent. <strong>Hailey Hernandez,<\/strong> who had been first in prelims, finished third with a score of 316.20. Teammate <strong>Caroline Kupka<\/strong> followed in fourth, with <strong>Alejandra Estudillo<\/strong> fifth. <strong>Bailey Cranford<\/strong> was seventh and <strong>Taylor Fox<\/strong> 10th, giving Texas 118 points from the event. Kentucky was the next highest scorer at 43, while Monroy\u2019s 32 were the only points Florida gleaned.<\/p>\n<p>The Gators are chasing a third consecutive sweep of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s titles at SECs, with the addition this year of the University of Texas complicating matters and challenging the run of 12 straight titles for the men\u2019s team. The last non-Florida team to win the SEC was Auburn in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mayson Richards<\/strong> of Texas A&amp;M was sixth, with Arkansas\u2019 <strong>Maria Jose Sanchez<\/strong> eighth. LSU\u2019s Montserrat Gutierrez Lavenant, who had been third last year, finished 12th, a spot behind teammate <strong>Helle Tuxen.<\/strong> Tuxen was fifth in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The five-day meet at Georgia\u2019s Gabrielsen Natatorium starts slowly, with diving the only event of Monday.
