Coach <strong>Chris Plumb&#8217;s<\/strong> squad swept all three relays and Olympian <strong>Alex Shackell<\/strong> captured her fourth straight title in the 100-yard butterfly during action at the Indiana University Natatorium.<\/p>\n<p>Carmel opened the afternoon with a victory in the 200 medley relay, with the foursome of <strong>Ellie Clarke<\/strong> (25.52), <strong>Molly<\/strong> <strong>Sweeney<\/strong> (28.41), Shackell (22.38) and <strong>Faith Gorey<\/strong> (22.79) recording a swim of 1:39.10. Alex Shackell.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Shackell punctuated one of the greatest careers in Indiana high school history in unselfish style, as she opted to race on all three relays to go with the 100 fly. Shackell won her latest 100 fly crown in 50.67, which was nearly three seconds quicker than the 53.61 of <strong>Emily Wolf<\/strong> (Fishers). Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Sprint standout <strong>Julie Mishler<\/strong>, a Louisville recruit from Wawasee High School, completed the sprint double. The national high school record holder in the event, she opened by dominating the competition in the 50 free in 21.87. Mishler later won the 100 freestyle in 47.86, where Gorey was second in 49.70.<\/p>\n<p>A sophomore, Wolf followed her silver in the 100 fly with a comfortable decision in the 500 freestyle. Wolf turned in a time of 4:46.47 to finish ahead of Clarke (4:51.20). A freshman, Clarke moved up a slot in the 100 backstroke, which she won in 54.34.<\/p>\n<p>Carroll&#8217;s <strong>Jordan Glassley<\/strong> topped the field in the 200 individual medley, going 2:00.42, and Valparaiso&#8217;s <strong>Madeline<\/strong> <strong>Moreth<\/strong> was quickest in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:00.58.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihsaa.org\/sports\/girls\/swimming-diving\/2024-25-tournament?round=state-finals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Page<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alex Shackell Powers Carmel to 39th Straight Indiana Girls Title;
