{"id":604409,"date":"2025-02-05T03:55:24","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T10:55:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=604409"},"modified":"2025-02-05T03:55:24","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T10:55:24","slug":"millfield-director-of-swimming-euan-dale-appointed-performance-pathway-lead-at-aquatics-gb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/millfield-director-of-swimming-euan-dale-appointed-performance-pathway-lead-at-aquatics-gb\/","title":{"rendered":"Millfield Director Of Swimming Euan Dale Appointed Performance Pathway Lead At Aquatics GB"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"article__aligner\">\n<div class=\"intro\">\n<h4 data-block-key=\"s1zbz\">Millfield Director Of Swimming Euan Dale Appointed Performance Pathway Lead At Aquatics GB<\/h4>\n<p data-block-key=\"s1zbz\"><strong>Euan Dale<\/strong>, part of the coaching staff that guided Great Britain&#8217;s swimmers to their best-ever Olympic medal haul in Tokyo, has been appointed Performance Pathway Lead &#8211; Swimming at Aquatics GB.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"s1zbz\">The Scot is currently the Director of Swimming at <strong>Millfield School<\/strong>, helping oversee a programme that included Olympic relay champions <strong>Matt Richards<\/strong> and <strong>James Guy<\/strong> before the pair joined Ryan Livingstone, who was appointed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ryan-livingstone-coach-of-matt-richards-james-guy-to-take-up-lead-role-at-manchester-performance-centre\/\">the new Aquatics GB Manchester Performance Centre Lead Coach<\/a> in May 2024.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"s1zbz\">Richards and Guy were on the GB team that won a record eight medals in 2021 and, along with <strong>Duncan Scott<\/strong> and <strong>Tom Dean<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/paris-olympics-day-4-finals-great-britain-retain-mens-4x200-free-title-with-143-anchor-by-duncan-scott\/\">claimed an historic defence of the 4&#215;2 relay title<\/a> in Paris last year.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article__aligner\">\n<div class=\"intro\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"streamfield\">\n<div class=\"article__aligner\">\n<p data-block-key=\"mgnyr\">Dale &#8211; who begins the role in April &#8211; is a two-time Commonwealth medallist, claiming double silver in the 400IM and with Scotland in the 4&#215;2 relay at the 2006 Games in Melbourne and two years later competed at the Beijing Olympics.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"mgnyr\">An Aquatics GB press release says: &#8220;Dale&#8217;s wealth of coaching experience has seen him identify and nurture talent in the sport &#8211; a responsibility he will now take into implementing a world-class performance pathway across Aquatics GB\u2019s pool and marathon swimming programmes, ensuring the effective transition of the next generation of talent on a trajectory towards achieving senior international success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"mgnyr\">Dale said: &#8220;I am thrilled to join Aquatics GB as the Performance Pathway Lead for Swimming. The progress made in our pathway programmes to date has set a strong foundation, and I am excited about driving its future success.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"1nr1d\">&#8220;With swimming&#8217;s stellar profile, I see an incredible opportunity to inspire and shape the hearts and minds of our talented athletes, steering them to achievements on the international stage. My love for sport drives me to ensure each athlete stretches the limits of their potential.
