The junior has never raced breaststroke on the national level, but she swam the fastest time in the country in the 200 breaststroke Saturday as Stanford earned a 180-119 victory over their primary rival, Cal.<\/p>\n<p>Bell came in at 2:05.10 to win the 200 breast, the top time in the country ahead of the 2:05.71 from Duke&#8217;s <strong>Kaelyn Gridley<\/strong>. Bell previously ranked No. 2 in the country (2:05.92), and she also broke the Stanford school record of 2:05.88 set by <strong>Katie Olsen<\/strong> 11 years ago.\u00a0Bell also won the 100 breast in 58.30, jumping into the national top-10 in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Bell has previously excelled on the national level in the individual medley events, finishing third (400 IM) and fourth (200 IM) at last year&#8217;s NCAA Championships, but her improvement in breaststroke this season has been astounding considering Bell began October with a 200-yard best time of 2:14.68 in the event.<\/p>\n<p>Huske posted three individual wins on the day, highlighted by a best time in the 50 free at 21.30. Huske moved into a three-way tie for No. 13 all-time in the event alongside\u00a0<strong>Kasia Wasick<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Gabi Albiero<\/strong>, and she moved up to No. 2 nationally behind\u00a0<strong>Gretchen Walsh<\/strong>. Huske later clocked 47.78 for the win in the 100 free before winning the 100 butterfly in 50.72.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/college\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More college swimming news<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Meanwhile,\u00a0<strong>Lillie Nordmann<\/strong> improved to No. 2 in the country in the national standings in the 200 fly, finishing in 1:51.85. That mark sits behind only\u00a0<strong>Emma Sticklen<\/strong> in the national rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Also performing well for Stanford was sophomore\u00a0<strong>Caroline Bricker<\/strong>, who earned wins in the 200 freestyle and 200 IM. Bricker clocked 1:42.56 in the 200 free, jumping to No. 7 in the country. While she will likely stick with the 400 IM at the national level, Bricker could combine with Huske, <strong>Aurora Roghair<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Kayla Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>to threaten for a national title in the 800 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>Bricker also won the 200 IM at the end of the day, clocking 1:54.46, while Roghair had wins in the 1000 free (9:24.78) and 500 free (4:36.97). The <a href=\"https:\/\/gostanford.com\/news\/2025\/02\/1\/bell-breaks-record-in-cardinal-win-over-cal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cardinal<\/a> also swept diving, with <strong>Maria Papworth<\/strong> finishing first in 1-meter diving (294.45) while <strong>Lauren Burch<\/strong> was the best performer on 3-meter (303.38).<\/p>\n<p>Stanford was mostly dominant in individual events, with\u00a0<strong>Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> the only Cal swimmer to record an individual win.
